Astrid glad you are keeping and another vote for the shorter length. I agree this should serve as a neutral and so much will go with it.

Thanks Rae! I think Angie says that just under the knees is still a midi and the best length for petites. Well, doesn't matter what it's called, it definitely looks better in #2. I agree.

I like your idea of a formula, but how would you measure that? And how much more would be too much? If you think about it that way you don't consider proportions at all. Or did you think about it two-dimensional?

Ooh, I just saw the part about the mathematical formula! Maybe a range between which the surface area of the clothing can deviate from the surface area of the body? Too much more fabric, and it's overwhelming, too little fabric, and it's skimpy?

I also prefer it pinned up - I know it's not a midi anymore like that, but somehow midis work better slim to my eye... otherwise it's a loooong, wiiiiide expanse of fabric that can be overwhelming easily.

Thanks Mac!

Jonesy, it's an olive yes. You should think that olive green would be a neutral, but I have some very cool colors in my wardrobe that clash with the skirt, at least to my eye. But black, grey and all the middle tones should be alright. Blue works and purple and I would imagine red and cream would look great with it too!

Thanks Kristin. Looks like I'll keep it and shorten it.

Una, you're right. And I'd love to have that formula!

I like it pinned. Otherwise, it's just too much fabric somehow. There must be a mathematical formula to this (like "ideal length = bottom hem width/x factor")...

I think it looks better at the shorter length as well. And I think it would work with the things you have up. It'll be a good neutral skirt, so there are lots of things you can do with it.

I agree with everyone else: I think it's charming at the shorter (though still midi!) length. I would think it would pair with lots of different colors--it's an olive, right? I wear olive like a neutral, and pair just about every color with it.

Thanks Celia. #2 is pinned just over my knees, I think that's the length that works for almost everyone.

Thanks Missvee. I guess I would definitely hem it then. I've been buying a lot of different greens recently actually and green was never my favourite color in the past. Somehow it's growing on me! Using a belt to elongate the top half is a good idea.

I like it better in version #2 - I think it will be more versatile, with boots or with flats. If you're concerned about the high waist, then match your belt as closely as possible to your top in order to continue the colour down to your natural waist. I think it's a very nice neutral colour, but I am biased here because I love all greens!

I've bought this green midi skirt today and I'm not sure if I can make it work like I want to. The fit is great, although I'm not sure if it isn't too high on short waisted me. It's an a-line skirt for a change and this should in theory be a great skirt for my body type, I just fear that this one looks borderline frumpy. Am I right? Or is it all depending on the styling?

Is it too long? I've pinned it up a bit in #2, would this length work better?

The green is rather warm toned, so some of my things don't work with it. I've shown how it looks with bare legs in #2, but I would probably wear this as a fall and winter skirt only (it is lined). The green belt that comes with the skirt is attached for the moment, but I added the cognac belt in #1 over it. I think I would wear this either tucked and with a wide belt or with a small belt and a lose cropped sweater. Or a casual knit sweater and no visible belt, with scarf and booties, like in #3.

This skirt was on extreme sale, but I don't want to keep it when it won't work in the end or doesn't have potential. What do you think?
