Thanks, Brenda and Deborah!

Thanks Scarlet! I tried it but the fabric is too thick.

I'm going to keep it, I'll cut the tags now. I think I'm going to take it to my usual seamstress and ask her how much it would cost to shorten the sleeves.

I think this jacket is fab!! But I would be more inclined to pair it with jeans/trousers because of the length. It still looks good like this though, either open or partly closed. I wonder if you can try a cheap fix it yourself on the sleeves? You can hand sew it to maintain the original cuff just like you would on a jeans hem. It might work if the fabric isn't too thick.

Thanks, Sarah!

Thanks for chiming in, Claire. You make some good points.

Thanks, Kyle. I get what you mean. I like that style of jacket Angie posted too, but I've never found one that was cropped enough so that the fit was alright. These styles are always too long for me (I'm shortwaisted and would theoretically need petites) or too tight in the lower half when they fit in the shoulders. This jacket is not that boxy though, maybe it just looks that way in the pics.

Thanks, Nakidra. I feel alright with it and I like it, but I'm not dancing around in joy when I have it on.

With your youth and sassy style I think I'd prefer to see you in the type of denim jacket Angie posted in her recent list of finds. It's more fitted, whereas this feels a tad boxy to me.

Astrid I LOVE this jacket and I would keep it. I am a sucker for these ladylike Chanel style collars, too. If I remember correctly, you wear a fair amount of turtle necks and scarves. They would be perfect with this jacket. I only have a few button-front shirts, so its no problem to wear them with something else as their topper, although I'm not convinced that they could not be worn with a collarless jacket. I am crazy about the trim on this too. It's like free jewelry! I think the fit is fine, as far as denim jackets go, this one is less boxy than most. You will probably not need to close it (a nice scarf down the front will keep you warm) and I think the sleeves would look better scrunched than rolled. That way the detailing on the cuff won't be hidden. In case you were wondering. I vote KEEP.

Thanks, Jonesy. To shorten the sleeves would probably cost me about 8€. When I had the sleeves shortened of my coat I paid 12€, but it was lined.

Thanks, Andrea. That makes sense with the length and the hiking up. I think I never wore my old denim jacket closed, so that wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

I really like it. The sleeves are long but not problematic IMO. I like the wash, the details, etc. The only problem is the way it looks closed and I think it is, as you said, because a petitie would fit you slightly better - it is a teensy bit longer on you than I think it is supposed to be, so when you close it at the waist it hikes up in back a little.

How often do you wear your jackets closed? For me, it would be a non-issue as I nearly NEVER wear my jackets closed. And I don't think I've ever buttoned up my denim jacket. So that is something to consider. If you commonly button all the way, and the bunching bothers you, return it. If you are like me, I say keep because it looks great open.

I think it's really great open and partly closed! I would keep, since it seems like a versatile piece for you and the price was right. The sleeves are a bit too long, but not really too bad, IMHO.

Thanks for chiming in, everybody.

Meredith, it's true that I want to avoid fit issues too. But I'm not that easy to fit when it comes to tops, so I have these issues everytime. I think I would theoretically need petite sized jackets and tops, but they don't sell any petites here in Germany at all. You're right that I couldn't wear this all the ways, I don't like it closed.

Shannon, I'm not sure if the lack of collar is a problem, I've never had a jacket like this before.

Suz, that's true, rolling the cuffs isn't really a possibility. Do you find that you always have to work your outfit around the collar if you want to wear your jacket? I don't want a jacket where I have to compromise and work around too much.

Mochi, I think that's why I brought it home with me. The sleeves are hard to roll because of the detail.

Mellllls, I definitely like it best in #1 too.

I kind of like that it's a different cut from the run-of-the-mill jeans jacket. Too-long sleeves are so irritating--can you roll them up? I could see you wearing this, but styled as it is in Pic 1. I don't like it closed so much.

It's tricky with the sleeves because rolling them up, you'd lose the cuff detail, and altering would be more expensive (although do-able).

Collarless jackets CAN be more difficult to style but Claire and I have a collarless denim jacket and we have both been wearing it with crew necks and with scarves, which you often wear.

I think it has possibilities Astrid - the sleeves are definitely too long. I don't think the fabric at the back is all that bad and I don't mind the wash. I am questioning the lack of collar though - will this make it more difficult to style?

It's a cute jacket on you and works with the outfit. My concern and this is just me....it always bugs me when things don't feel or look correct ALL the ways they can be worn. Maybe there is a perfect one out there for you or maybe could get this one tailors and "tweaked" but you should love it and not have fit issues. I am trying to make myself deal with this better in my own wardrobe.

I was looking for knits today but ended up buying this denim jacket. I'm really not sure about it. Please be totally honest!

Somehow at home the fit issues seem to be more apparent, the sleeves are slightly too long and there's too much fabric in the back. And I'm not sure about the wash in the light at home either. Too many issues? Although I love the idea of it with the denim and the daytime sparkle.

#1/2 Worn open. It definitely looks best this way.

#3/4 Closed. The fit issues come to the fore here, although I'm not sure I would even want to wear it this way.

#5 Partway closed.

What do you think? Is it worth a second thought? I couldn't decide and because I can't post pictures out of the dressing room I bought it and took it home with me. It was on sale for 25€.
