But even within 'brown', I still find many more cognac &amp; tan leather boots than I do dark brown - it's just frustrating when earth tones are supposed to be on trend (or were!) </p> <p>It's not a big loss, since winters here are mild, but am just frustrated that I'm having to make do with black kneehighs that are increasingly starting to feel out of place with my current (brown based) wardrobe. I'd much appreciate any honest opinions on: </p> <p>1)<br /> The mock crocodile skin: is it ALGO/ OTT for smart casual &amp;/or workwear? My original intention was 'plain' boots for versatility, since I only need *one* pair for my climate.</p> <p>2)<br /> Their 'water resistance': the description says they're 'leather &amp; synthetic upper', but inside the boot it just says 'leather'. Do you think they will stay waterproof/ be easily reproofed with a leather waterproofing spray? I'm wondering because they have what seems to be glue residue on the shaft (last photo) - think it will come off?</p> <p>3)<br /> The fit: Does the 'bowing out' at the sides look strange?
