Janet, I ordered small and medium, and sent small back right away - it was too tight in the shoulders to wear as a coat. Small was significantly shorter too, which is fine for 5' 4" me but might be an issue for you ...

Suz, I think this is supposed to be tailored - it looks tailored on the model anyway - but most tailored jackets/coats are boxy on me. This is my nemesis!

I ordered it too! It arrived last night. I thought it *might* possibly be a bit more jacket weight, to wear as kind of a long blazer/jacket, but I think it might be a little warm for me for that. You and I are in very similar climates

But anyway, getting the topic to how it looks on you! I think it looks good, fitwise. I like the style a lot -- it's simple and classic, but modern. Love the subtle pattern too.

What size did you get? I got the M and it seems perhaps a little roomy, especially in the shoulders and the top, but I need to try it on again over a sweater and look at it as a coat, not a jacket. I also have a good bit of room through the waist and a little in the hip too, so it's possible I could go down a size.

What a gorgeous coat! Is the fit meant to be boxy or tailored? I wonder if it would be worth ordering a size down to compare. It looks really good on you if it is not too big.

Thanks! I should have said that I'm actually wearing a blazer under the coat in these pictures ... so maybe it's too big.

if you hadn't included #2, i wouldn't even have thought about this coat being too big.....in picture #1 the fit looks good to me. but i should also add that i like to be able to layer a sweater or blazer under my winter coats. i 2nd Laura's suggestion of trying it on with jeans and a sweater.

What a lovely coat. It does look a little roomy through the body, but you're likely wearing yoga clothes so if you were wearing something less form fitting it'd be less obvious. I'd try it on w a sweater and jeans before you make your final decision, IMO.

Is this the wool coat for me?

pro:

I like the plaid a lot.

It's the right level of warmth for mild VA winters. I want a coat that won't feel like too much when it's in the 40s (5-10 celsius). I have a puffer for the rare cold snap or trip up north.

The construction is good, the fabric quality is perfectly acceptable at this price point.

con:

How's the fit? Should it have a little more relation to my actual waist and hip? I couldn't size down and still move my arms normally.

Excuse the rest of the outfit and the hair - I just got home from yoga!
