My husband convinced me many years ago to invest in one nice bag that I keep for years instead of a cheap bag that I replace every six months or a year. I saw some real leather bags and I had to double take to see if they are actually leather (and I did the smell test too). And it was from some designer that I can't remember. Love the denim jacket particularly. As for the bag, I side with modgrl. If you are hard on your bags, leather is the way to go. Especially now with the miracle magic eraser to clean up light colored bags. Congrats on the 'clean living' and fun results from it!!</p> <p>ETA: White purses get grubby no matter what they are made of (well, at least any that are around me do), and this is one area where I am willing to spend less, get non-leather, etc. It won't hold up as well as leather, but grubby white leather isn't worth holding onto IMHO. Wow - much better experience! I went shopping last week and made some fun purchases and of course was thrilled that I could shop in the misses department just for the selection. Feedback and styling ideas welcome!</p> <p>#1: Brown elastic belt - I don't have any wide belts and I liked how it looked with the outfit I had on.</p> <p>#2: A faux wrap dress (in Misses XL, not plus- the joy!). I wouldn't wear it with the black tights, but that's what I had on when I got home.</p> <p>#3: Denim Jacket - I'd been wanting a fitted denim jacket to replace my too big boxy one. This one was a deal, and of all things I liked the L better than the XL because it gave me more of a waist, but still fit my arms and shoulders fine. (Insert head explosion here.) </p> <p>Also - a white purse (from the Elle line). I've been wanting a white purse (I credit you all), and am a little worried about upkeep because I'm hard on things. This one wasn't too expensive, but I like the lines - sort of a balance between team structured and unstructured. I'm still debating whether to keep it or splurge and get a real leather bag. Thoughts? Experience with this brand? </p> <p>#4: Bonus pic of the dress and purse - I figure the purse helps make up for the black tights :-). </p>
