We have redone at least once since we moved in everything but the actual cabinets, notably the appliances, light fixtures, floors and countertops a few years ago. My second DD helped me install the tile backsplash when she was 16, influencing her college major choice of interior design. In the second photo, you can see additional cabinets on the right, built by DH to add storage and counter space, which is why we got new countertops. I plan to remove wallpaper and repaint this spring. Our laundry was outside. We did a major renovation about 3 years ago and I designed everything myself. I found the experience overwhelming and I haven’t finished the interiors yet (trying to do that this year). Anyhow, I wanted a classic style kitchen that was not fussy. I read a lot of stuff on Houzz and was very influenced by blogger Maria Killam. We didn’t have the room for an eat in area (we do have a separate formal dining room), so I ended up going for an eat in island area.
