I really like the Sorels. I’ve been considering them for awhile. They’re kind of weird, and I like weird. :) I have a few pairs of Fly London shoes and they’re really comfy. I haven’t noticed them being wide, but then mine aren’t sandals.

I can relate to the struggle of finding white summer shoes with some edge to the style. I like fisherman sandals, too, and I'm keeping an eye out for something with a closed toe (or as closed as you get with a fisherman weave). I especially like the Fly and Sorel you've ordered.

I will add: if I find something that fits, it can be really hard for me to resist the almost-right style in situations like this!

I had a version of the Sorels back when -- they wore out after three hard years in constant rotation -- I liked them! They were very comfortable. I also saw a version of the ones you show recently and they looked super fun. I might be in need of something similar this summer myself. I'd prefer something "in between" -- not quite as chunky as this but not flat, either. I hope you have luck with these!

I love a chunky white sandal but usually opt for a darker sole because I can never keep the white ones clean. Of the four you've shown, I like the last two the best for you. They look sleeker than the Flys. I hope you find one that ticks all the boxes!

Thanks, Lise! I’m crossing fingers those work — or one of them!

Lisa, I never think to look at Quince, having never tried them, but it’s a good source for many people! I like the look of some Birks I see, but they do not work with my feet at all — I think I have low arches and never really thought about it much until I tried Birks and found them incredibly painful!

I know lower profile sandals and shoes are trending, and I enjoy those with summer skirts and dresses, and full-length pants, but sometimes they feel too insubstantial, especially when I wear shorts. Now that I got a new pair of shorts that I really like, the need for a couple of visually-heavier sandals comes through. I think they balance out my thick legs a little better.

Sandals with a substantial white sole are essential for me - I love the look and do not care if lower profile , "quieter" shoes are trendier right now. The sandals themselves don't need to be white but the soles do. I have the crazy Sorel's in your last pic with a slightly different upper but with that exact sole. Mine are all white with orange and green bits. I couldn't decide if I hated or loved them and wavered on returning them when I first bought them a few years ago, but I get compliments and comments every time I wear them - which is neither here nor there as I don't live for compliments on what I wear - but .......

I have had that Fly Liku (or something very similar from Fly) too and enjoyed them.

I just ordered a pair of chunky fisherman sandals from Quince - in black though and I don't think white was an option - and can't wait to get them . If it ever stops threatening to snow every 3 days here....

Oh - eta to add that Birkenstock has the Arizona in a chunky version with a white lug sole that's very cute. Maybe too casual for you though? I'd love a pair and in fact might have to take my own advice here :)

No suggestions but gosh those silver and white platforms in the first pic will make an excellent bookend with your hair. They are stunning. I hope they work for you.

I gave away my white lug-soled fisherman sandals at the end of last summer because they were seeming a little worse for wear, and I’d tired of them a bit. Now I wish I still had them! Something about the presence of a substantial-soled white sandal is appealing to me this season, even though it might not be trending hard anymore. I think I’m seeking some edge, but in a white sandal, which is hard to find. Not so flat. I have white flip-flops and I’m not feeling them yet (I think they will come back into rotation later, in the summer months).

I ordered these to try, but several years ago I tried some Fly London and the fit was too wide. The vibe is what I like, and my feet may have changed a little, so I decided to try again. Also thinking of those crazy Sorels because Sorel has worked for me well in the past, and the Nero Giardini ones. The platforms add a bit more presence.

Any other suggestions to try?
