Jenni, you are correct about Style Syntax. She is one of Kibbe's moderators in his Facebook group.

One great, helpful resource for DIY Kibbe is Sew Your Kibbe from Doctor T sewing blog. She has categories for every Kibbe type. What's helpful is we get to see more current, everyday examples of clothing, including everyday casual, a category very sadly missing from Kibbe's own recommendations and reveals.

Gabrielle Arruda also has some great blog posts about Kibbe body type.

Welcome back to the forum! That looks a possible correct result. I’m interested in Kibbe but only learned about it here on the forum for the first time 6 years ago. The most helpful site other than David Kibbe himself who has a Facebook group (and I don’t use Facebook at all) is a site called Style Syntax- I think the woman who owns that site may do some work with Kibbe but I’m not totally sure. I would Google Style Syntax Flamboyant Gamine if you want to check it out.

OMG
First off I want to apologize for disappearing into thin air… I had to do a social media detox for the sake of my mental health. Secondly I want to thank everyone who took the time to reply. I’ll be making an extra effort to engage more here, especially since I felt such a positive and friendly vibe at this forum compared to 99% of all the other online communities I’ve been active on. Anyway, I recently started following an instagram account that specializes in “personal image assessment and guidance”. They’ve just started a business and I assume will soon be charging for their services, but since their account is brand new and they’re trying to attract as many followers as possible, they’ve done a few quick “free trials” in their stories. Here’s mine.

I am one who does like Kibbe.

I think you are potentially gamine or classic because of your height and frame. I think Dramatics and Flamboyant Naturals are over 5ft 7 - and you don't seem to be in the romantic curvier frame (flesh dominant rather than frame dominant).

My pick would be flamboyant gamine or dramatic classic.

There is a creator called Ellie Jean Royden who posts on tiktok and also on Youtube who is really helpful.

I have struggled as well - I am a natural and I think Flamboyant Natural rather than Soft - but I got put off with all the supermodels being Flamboyant Natural - and I don't fit that description!!

Could be flam gamine, theatrical romantic, a dramatic classic, even a soft dramatic or dramatic; the fact that the shorter shorts and skirts work for you is more gamine. Dramatics thrive on length eg long skirts, trousers. But really this is just guessing, depends on face structure.

Mostly agree with the others here. Just wanted to add that I can see 'waist definition' as more harmonious on you (compared to photo #3).

I’m thinking somewhere between dramatic and natural, leaning dramatic or ‘flamboyant natural.’ In terms of shape only not, you know, personality… which always trips me up re Kibbe.

I'd consider one of the dramatic types as well. I see width in your shoulders and length through your legs, which would be dramatic natural, I think. Soft natural has width+curve. Highly recommend finding the kibbe groups on FB for this.

Bee it definitely is! You'll find excellent guidance here - and there are definitely some people interested in Kibbe on here! But overall it tends to be more individualized rather than focused on any particular system - which is one of the best things about it! (but also why you might not get quite as many typing opinions as places with a specific Kibbe focus - although you might!) In any case, I hope you get the help you're looking for here! Welcome! :)

Hi Helena! Thanks for your input! Although Kibbe is not my main interest, I will look into Reddit since I’ve never had an account there. So far this forum seems like an interesting place with good resources and friendly members. Even though my first post was about body shapes, I like the fact that this place is focused on fashion rather than bodies/physical appearance, etc.

Hi Bee and welcome! You might find a more active body typing community of Facebook or Reddit for Kibbe than on this forum, but fwiw I might consider looking at soft natural as a starting point. No expert though

Hello! I’m new to the forum and have recently been reading about the Kibbe method. I’m still trying to figure out my body type… or at least the type that’s closest to mine as it seems nearly impossible to fit into one category perfectly. If anyone familiar with this method could help me out, I’d be eternally grateful! Here are some photos to help out. I’ve excluded my face since I’m first trying to determine my body type separately before attempting to figure out my Kibbe “essence” or whatever (ugh) as a whole. I’m about 5’4 and 100 lbs or 163cm and 45kg except in the darker dress where I have probably 3 more kgs on me.
