Thanks Angie and Helena!

Style Fan, good to hear that the quality is very good.

Lana, excellent advice. I know what you mean about that wrap style top being too clingy. I have a top very similar to your grey one that is NOT too tight-looking on me because t's a black print the color makes a huge difference. Those cashmere stoles look to be not too bulky ... will have to check them out.

Ket thanks. Yes I can see that their classic style would not be your thing. I'll have to be sure to look for the videos. Good to know that their seasonal classification, like all others, is subjective!

Zaoebi, thans so much, what a great and thorough review! I love the idea of a skirt/top in matching colors for a dress-like outfit. I so rarely find dresses that fit me and this might be a way to go, and the colors would match! I did find the Kettlewell Colour Club FB group and requested membership.

Good to know suntiger.

Lana thanks for the info on the cashmere stoles.

Zaeobi, the cashmere stoles are lightweight but warm and not itchy to me at all. It’s fine for North Carolina winters but maybe not for northern regions. I wear them for warmth and to add color. They are not bulky.

As far as the price, they are definitely pricey! I have found some similar ones at Nordstrom that are about $50 less so I’ve been buying them instead lately. I can’t remember where you are, but if you buy from the states, you can return easily for free if you want to feel the fabric before you decide.

Tissue weight wool and cashmere scarf

I've bought a bunch of things from there. They're a good option when your seasonal colors are scarce in shops.
That said- they seem to sell out of colors quite quickly, so if you want something, you need to pounce.

I've also had some issues with the fabrics getting thin and puckering in spots.

Gorgeous outfits! Would you say the cashmere stoles are worth the full price? Really want to try them, but am wary about buying for my climate without being able to touch it first - is the fabric scratchy? Does it keep you *very* warm or just a little?

@Chris
Angie's right, I've used Kettlewell before! I'll try to be thorough, but feel free to ask if there's something I haven't covered (&/ or PM me).

THE PROCESS:
My stylist also recommended Kettlewell, but I'm actually from the UK so my ordering likely differs to yours. That said, I'm currently in HK & found international shipping to be efficient (as you stated, free shipping above a certain amount), with the sales team promptly responding to enquiries. Can't remember if I had to supply my own returns courier, but do remember it was an easy enough process through their website (though this was a while back, so things may have changed).
The order comes in a well secured cardboard box & each item is in its own plastic bag (not as environmentally friendly, but it does ensure your items stay dry in worldwide transit).

THE CLOTHES:
Like you, I find their items to be more on the classic side (or simply not my style - like the jewellery). But this can be a good thing, since it allows you to use their pieces as building blocks within different types of outfits. E.g. the ruched jersey pencil skirt (can't remember the name, sorry) - many folk like it with the cowl neck top to make a column of colour, but I also like it with a longer topper for drama.
Speaking of which, if you'd like to see examples of normal folk wearing the actual clothes (to give you an idea of how they pair) I believe their Facebook group is called something like the 'Kettlewell Colours Club'.
As for the clothes themselves, I mostly own bottoms from Kettlewell because they use a lot of synthetic materials (I'm guessing because it's easier to keep the dye consistent? So far all my clothes from them have been true to my monitor colour (ofc YMMV though), even across fabrics (e.g. my merino poncho & jersey maxi skirt). Yes I wish they posted garment measurements, but I've found the sizes to be true to the chart, depending on the fit you wish for (I had to size down to my usual size in the jersey pencil skirt for example, because I usually size up to accommodate my hips, but that made the ruching disappear). And nothing has shrunk in the wash after years (my stylist appointment was in 2019!) - though I don't tumble dry *at all*.

So whilst I do wish Kettlewell would do more natural fibres, I'm satisfied with what I have. I find it useful to filter the colours according to the filters first (mine are Deep and Warm rather than just 'Dark Autumn' - plus my stylist gave me specific shades I should try, since I can 'borrow' from Winter). If you don't see something you like, they often rotate their offerings (the 'Imogen' top is a crowd favourite for example, & it resurfaced recently - even though it's viscose, I wore it for international travel & didn't overheat).

Hope that helps? Keep us posted if you do end up ordering from them

I haven't ordered yet. A lot of their items are classic style, which isn't a fit for me -- no pun intended That said, I do look at them occasionally for basics. A friend of mine has ordered from them. She finds the quality excellent and she enjoys their colors. They offer videos of a real person wearing the item; the model shares their size and height, and talks about the fabric, fit, etc. That video part is really helpful!

I don't always agree with their seasonal classification of a color. I'll see certain colors recommended for both summer and autumn, Or I'll see a color marked spring, summer, and winter--three very different seasons. Sometimes I can see it working for all the seasons they label it as; other times it feels like a huge stretch. So, I would just be savvy and make sure the color aligns with your seasonal palette. I'm not super, duper picky about my season, but I also want it to be somewhat close or good enough. That aside, I do think they're a solid company. I like to browse their catalogs for color inspiration.

I’ve bought several things from them and mostly order my normal size. However, there are fitted, semi fitted and looser styles so I would pay attention to that. For example, I like wrap tops, but they are too fitted for me from Kettlewell with so much spandex which makes them too clingy. I love their lace trimmed camis to wear under other tops for a bit of color and femininity.

Somewhere on the site is a guide to which styles work best for which body type, so worth searching for that. Some top styles are shorter, some are longer which work for petite vs tall. I always read the comments in the reviews.

1: wrap top is too clingy for me but works well for others.
2: bit of lace cami peeking out
3 and 4: LOVE Their cashmere stoles!

I love their colours. I am a Warm Autumn. The colour analyst I went to told me how to order if someone is in Canada. Quite the process! This was about eight years ago.
The quality is very good. Have fun!

The stylist who did my color analysis recommended I take a look at Kettlewell Colours, a UK company that makes clothes in LOTS of colors, both solids and prints. They have hundreds of colors, with each one being offered in a few different clothing items.. Lots of tops and sweaters, some jackets, scarves, skirts. Almost no pants, They allow you to search for color by seasons or cool vs warm. Looking at their colors is like looking at a Pantone color list. Their styles look mostly classic to me. No petites :-(

https://www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/
shipping to US is $20 but if you order over $100 it's free. (Easy to do I think). Looks like returns are also free from US. I don't see anything about shipping to Canada so maybe they do not do it. I have been looking but haven't ordered anything. Might try it.

Has anyone had experience with this company?
