Of course what that means to different people varies. Your jacket is cute, but your legs would certainly get wet as the rain poured off. Is that tolerable? I also don't like umbrellas a lot; I like having my hands free, so I do like a hood.</p> <p>I have a longish Patagonia raincoat. It really is waterproof. The liner zips out and the hood zips off. Plus it adjusts in the back of the hood so it's not too big. The only drawback is it's not very warm. Personally I like having a hood on my jackets, purely for practicality... I wanted something truly waterproof (not like my little all-cotton trench coat which is more a fashion piece than a rain coat) and with a hood. I'm wondering though how versatile it is, and if it really fits.
