The irony is that the point is now moot. Long story short, the seller would rather issue a refund than deal with the return.
So now, that money can go toward alterations - yay!
I know it seems like I have a wardrobe of unutilized clothes. I've been living in limbo here so long I almost forget how to dress myself lol! But when I do get back home, and to my life, I actually go out a few times a week. Being a bartender, and childless, in a 24 hour town with casinos tends toward not the typical suburban life Oh, and being in the great outdoors gives us lots of reasons to get out, too. Rafting, skiing, bike rides, etc. So, *eventually* all my fun clothes will come out and play. It's just right here right now there's not a lot of playtime haha. (the beauty is this is the time I can dedicate to getting those clothes that will come out and play)
And Rae, I would *much* rather hear 'return, it's not quite right' if it's the truth! I'm a big girl - I don't take the way clothing fits personally! thanks guys!

What Rae said. I've returned a kajillion things - so many that I'm afraid I'll forget to check up on all of them getting refunded. It's like earning money back!

Sorry to keep voting against things. If it makes you feel any better, I have returned SO MUCH... some things that I haven't even posted here because the fit was so bad.

Hey, can you put this return $ toward the Fryes?

Okay, I think I am going to return this. Rae and Una you both bring up excellent points. I am actually culling quite a bit and have only 17 dresses now, from the most formal gown to the scuzziest lounge don't be seen out of the house in it, to full on nylon gear for watersports and tunic sweaterdresses included.
This struck me as one of the first dresses I liked everything about that was an actual, real, 'grown up' dress if that makes any sense. It's not too sexy, not too officelike, not too girly, or too short, or too casual - yadda yadda yadda. But if it doesn't fit right, it doesn't fit right. End of story boo hoo

Last Call does have a smaller size, but not in blue. It's called smoke and is very dark gray, for double the price. Wah.

looks saggy in the boob area especially the side view. i like the mix of the two types of fabric spanning formality, the zip is fun, but it makes the girls look saggy--a deal breaker.

Mo, playing devil's advocate here - how often do you "do lunch" in summer? How often did you wear the dress you're replacing? You've got a fab collection of little dresses - are they earning their PPW?

It's a great dress and looks lovely on you (what doesn't?!)... just wondering if it's going to get worn often enough to be worth it. It's just that I know I accumulate little dresses for my "what'-if" occasions and then feel sorry for them hanging there unused.

Yeah, Rae - that's my main fit concern. I could see this out for lunch or drinks with the girls in summer with cute sandals and a crop cardi. Or date night with my tux jacket. It seems most of my dresses right now are either definite sundresses/daydresses or occasion/party dresses. I guess this would be bridging the casual and dressy sides of the closet - it feels like I could dress it up or down pretty easily. But I want to be sure it fits. I'm so tired of 'amosts' that now I don't know if I'm being over paranoid. I mean, maybe if I want comfort I have to sacrifice snug fit and vice versa. The black strapless fit but was not comfortable. Sigh.

Pics 3 and 4 do seem to show some bagging in the torso to my eye. If it's stretchy, it seems even more that it is meant to be fitted.

What occasions would you wear this for?

I did put on both a crop black cardi and my jean jacket and both looked great with it.

Sara, the straps are adjustable - I think that wrinkling is the dreaded high shelf hip issues I've been having. I could certainly try shortening them so it hits more empire.

The ruched bust is part of the design, but that whole black top half is stretchy and I wonder if it should be fitting flush up against my torso rather than sort of hanging nearby lol. See from the side especially how it looks somewhat paper bag-like? I don't know it that's fine or a deal breaker.
Here is the same dress in another color scheme for fit reference http://www.lastcall.com/store/.....d%253D8115

I think it fits really nicely (not too loose on the torso), showcases your waist, hits at a sweet spot around your knee, and all-around looks great :-)

Is it black top and blue skirt, or is that just the pic?

I also think it would work nicely with a cardi in A/C and maybe with a cropped jacket (can't think of what you have).

I vote keep!

ETA: Are the side wrinkles from the torso being loose or from the bodice sitting a bit low? You could try pinning the straps an inch shorter if it's where the bodice sits.

That was the one thing I couldn't tell from the pictures. Especially in the bust area are the wrinkles part of the design or because of the fit? Did you try a size smaller?

hee hee - sort of both. Mostly I loved it that much. But does it fit well? I see on the mannequin it's a bit more snug in the torso. It does have stretch on that portion of fabric.

So the dress came today. I threw it on right out of the bag so it may be a tad wrinkley. What's the verdict?

I am hoping it can take the place of my black strapless zip front dress that just was too uncomfortably small (last pic).

yay - keep
nay - return
