I just threw it on with what I was wearing yesterday, and those jeans are on their way to the back of the closet - I’m currently refreshing my jeans capsule with some more current styles. I just bought a pair of wide legs today at Loft and I have a pair of straight legs coming from BR. I will try it on with those, and with a few non-denim pants before deciding. I have a short torso and some of my tops fold at the back, similar to your size S. I do often have to deal with sleeves that are too long so maybe I am just more used to that issue. Cute shirt. Maybe go with whichever feels best on. I would make sure it doesn’t seem likely to shrink in the wash though, if you have any doubt. The fit of the back is also very important but if doen't feel uncomfortable (because it can! especially when underarms are snug, or so...) then I would buy the smaller size  for myself. In fact, at the moment I have the same dillemma with a blush/old rose baby cord shirt...still debating which size to commit for... I love this on you!  BR is really hitting it out of the ballpark this year. Lots of interesting dramatic tops and nicer knitwear than in recent years. But the tops in particular are very cool. LisaP got some great ones in the summer.  I think on balance I prefer the small. Is the shirt flannel? If so, that would explain the slight "grabbiness" with the back on denim. Try it with some other pants and see if it does the same thing. And let it hang out overnight and then try again with the jeans. Better in the front and in these sleeves. I don’t mind the back fit IF it’s a comfortable fit and you’re not tugging at the back. Both sizes are very similar in fit in the front, with the big difference being longer sleeves on the medium (too long). I would have said the size small was better until I saw the photo of the back view. The medium isn’t much bigger in the body in the front, it is bigger in the back, and I can fold up and cuff the sleeves or tuck them under. What do you think? Keep one, return both? For reference, the BR stock photo is the last pic.
