The fact that my "knickers" are barely covered by the BFs just adds to the difficulties! I'm glad I'm not alone, but I wish this wasn't such an issue.

Welcome to my world. Try having a long torso, add in a low rise jean and then try to keep your shirt tucked in! I love my white BB button front but it just does not want to be paired with my jeans. And I'm finding I quite prefer everything tucked in these days, which compounds the problem. I used to have uniform pants and skirts that had rubber "gripper strips" sewn into the waist bands to help shirts stay tucked in. Maybe I need to try to find some of those!

My shirts come untucked all the time and like Suz and Sveta, I love the semi-tuck for this same reason.

Hmm. Maybe this is another reason semi-tucking won me over. Has anyone tried something like this? (A quick internet search did not reveal a non-thong version.)
I have the same problem and it's a constant struggle for me to "let" my kids pick up after themselves vs. doing it myself because it's just so much faster. Argh.

Oh, you were asking about shirts, lol. Have you ever tried to tuck them inside your underwear? Sounds odd but maybe the additional elastic might help? I had a friend who used to do that, I thought it was genius.
Denise, what a brilliant observation. I have one knit button down, and that is true -- it stays tucked!

I wear button downs for work and yes they do come undone easily. I wear the button downs because the woven shirt is dressier than a tee shirt, but when the shirt comes out, it can look sloppy, defeating the purpose of the "dressier" shirt. Therefore, I've grown very fond of knit button downs as they stay put. But I still wear the woven ones. And just, you know, deal with it.

It might also be the degree to which the shirts are fitted or not. Check to see if they have princess seams vs. darts (or both) or how they are constructed. Maybe one works better than others. I don't have any answers here. Just a busy hand tucking my shirt-tails back in.

Hah, my two GAP shirts which are the WORST are regulars, not petites! It must be my extraordinarily long torso ; )

Glad I'm not the only one!

Pssst.

They don't stay tucked on me, either.

And I find it annoying, too.

Certain ones really are worse than others, though. The new J. Crew shirts are not going to be a problem. They are regular, not petite. I learned that with Brooks Brothers I need to buy regular; their petites are way too short for me, period. Even if I'm not wearing boyfriend jeans. They just don't work in petite.

I can buy petite in BR if I size up....waist placement and sleeve length is better, but they will untuck with low slung jeans that are loose fitting. So next time I may try a regular size instead. Sleeves will be too long, but I always roll or scrunch anyway.

Sarah, I have the same problem and this is one of the reasons I prefer faux-tuck or semi-tuck to a full one.
I have no idea how they stay tucked in on Angie or Suz!

I like the look of button downs tucked into BF jeans, but frankly, between the jeans sitting lower on my hips and not being as "tight" around the waist/hips, my button down shirts constantly come untucked, especially as I go about the normal every-day activities of picking up pasta, markers, paper, stray socks and whatever else my children have strewn about the house. I do work hard to make them pick up after themselves, but sometimes I just throw up my hands, which also causes my shirts to come untucked.

Does this drive anyone else batty?
