<p><div>nemosmom, I'll be checking! In the meantime, I've decided to pass on the skirt (sob). Maybe I'll post it for sale below for anyone who wants it. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I think the other two skirts are probably going as well. The floral one is nice but I don't think I care enough to pay to have the pockets taken out. I'm pretty sure it was a TJ Maxx find a few years ago. I have another pink floral skirt. I'm going to try it with a short top, untucked before I decide for sure.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The navy skirt (also Boden) is fine, but I'm aiming for better than fine.<br /></div>

<p><div>bj1111, alas, I have no sewing skills whatsoever. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>nemosmom, it's true, I don't lack for options. I am pretty convinced to let 2 and 3 go. I suspect I'll balk at the price of altering number one. You are correct that I have plenty of other options!<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Boden still makes that skirt style (the Lola). If a pattern I like comes around, I may try again at the next size, since the skirt works well in theory. I am not keen on the current iterations, but I'm sure they'll produce more.<br /></div>

<p>I would pass them all on. #1 being too tight would be a deal breaker for me. I think you have such great alternatives for #2 and #3, (like your new polka dot!!), and the Boden that's en route, I would let them go.

<p>if you're handy with a needle, it's just a hemming or running stitch to close the opening.&nbsp; most of the work is in lining up the parts to sew together.&nbsp; worth a try if you plan to give it away anyway.

<p>Sounds like you're not 100% in favor of keeping any of them, but I wonder if skirt 1 that you do love could be altered to fit more comfortably! The rest of the skirt looks loose enough that it could be do-able

<p>bj1111, that’s a size 10R (US sizing.). I’d love to pass it on to a Fabber. I’ll post it below if you don’t want it. </p>
<p>You and Gigi both are right about the pockets. That’s why I posted the link skirt. I do actually like it a lot and I’m not sure I noticed the pockets before. I’m going to see if wearing it with an untucked top helps. Otherwise, I’m not sure if it will be worth the expense of NYC-priced alterations.</p>
<p>As you see, I have plenty of other options! (The black Boden one has yet to arrive.) I’m glad to be getting rid of the ones I don’t wear as much.

<p>Clearly pass on no. 1 since it is too tight.</p>
<p>No. 3 isn't fab enough for you, IMO. I would pass it on too. There are more interesting skirts out there.</p>
<p>No. 2 would be a "nay" for me because of the pockets sticking out. That's a deal breaker in my book. If you really love the skirt, then you could pay to have the pockets removed and sewn shut. But I'm guessing that if you loved the skirt that much, it probably wouldn't be pictured on this post.

<p>you won't be the first to buy for a fantasy season or an optimistic size.&nbsp; the good news is that you can wear the skirts that you feel really good about!&nbsp; fwiw, i really like the fitted tank with the fit and flare skirt as a silhouette.&nbsp; pouchy pockets are a no deal because you'll constantly be adjusting or checking it out in any reflective surface to make sure they stay flat or covered.&nbsp; you can try altering or just pass it on if you're not so enamored of the pattern.</p>
<p>i love that first skirt...if you decide to donate to a ylf'er, i'd take it off your hands.&nbsp; what size is it.

<p>Good idea, Becky. </p>
<p>Joy, that skirt is too tight. I think I have to donate it because that keeps me from wearing it. I love it so much that I needed to be talked into giving it up, but even as I posted I knew I had to. It’s just barely okay when I stand, but not comfortable at all when I sit.

<p>Thanks all, you guys are confirming my gut here. </p>
<p>Sarah, I have plenty of printed tops but most are suited best to pants and jeans. So that’s not a reason to keep it. </p>
<p>carter, the pockets do stick out on the middle one, which is the source of my hesitation on it. An untucked top would hide that. I wonder if there is some alteration that would help with that?

<p>I would pass on the first and 3rd skirts. I'd like to see the pink one styled. I think the pockets may be sticking out a bit, but perhaps an untucked top fixes that? BTW, your waist is exactly where mine is ;-).

<p>I agree, get rid of the one that is (and will be, given what you've said about your patterns of weight loss) much too tight. But eBay stalk for a larger size!</p>
<p>For the solid navy, would it be a completer piece for any print tops? Or do you have other skirts you like better that could play that completer role? If you don't need it in that way I vote let it go.</p>
<p>The middle skirt is a fun print and I think it's flattering on you so it's the best candidate to stay.

<p>The Cat I love that one too, it’s just a shame that it’s not comfortable enough for me to keep it. It’s really much too tight. I’ve looked for a larger size on eBay and haven’t seen anything so far. It’s tight on my waist, which is relatively small and is the last place I will lose weight, so I can’t even hold onto it and hope for that. I’ve even worn it without zipping it all the way up, but that’s not a good solution in the end. </p>
<p> I should have added that I have tops to that will go with all of them. They’re just not all out of storage yet so I didn’t bother trying to style each one individually.</p>
<p>The mirror angle does no favors for 8 &amp; 10. I meant them to be positive examples and don’t intend to donate them. I doubt I can get better pics any time soon so I took them out for now.

<p>I think #3 and #5 could work with matching tops.</p>
<p>Regarding #8 and #10, I am in doubt. The others seem more flattering.

<p><div>Hi all, I've started the process of switching to warm weather clothes, which I do in two stages. My warm weather clothes are too plentiful, and one area I’m focusing on is skirts since they don’t all get worn.<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>I love fit and flare skirts but find them tough to wear sometimes because of my very short waist. I've used a tucked in top with all of these so you can see where the waist hits me, but that may not be how I always style them. I'd like to pass on at least 1-2 of these 3. </p>
<p>I have tops that will go with these skirts, but they are mostly all still in storage so I didn’t try to style each one individually. None of these would be an orphan. It’s just that I used to shop for fantasy life where I was living in eternal summer, so I have more than I can wear!<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>As of now, I want to pass on #1-2. It’s too tight, even though it zips up. It's a shame because I LOVE the print, but I was foolish about what size I bought.<br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div>I am on the fence about #3-4 and #4-5 (especially this one; seems less great than another navy one I own)</p>
<p> ETA - I took out the good examples I originally included. I think they may actually cloud things because it’s so hard for me to get flattering pictures of midi length skirts in that mirror since I can’t back up, and both of those looked too long in the pictures. They look better IRL. I will try to style them and post about them separately later with better pics.<br />
</div><div>What do you all think?</div>
