Agree, first rule is not to " make" things work just because they were free or cheap unless you feel fun and inspired.
Coat looks too boxy.
Vest could be fun with jeans or skinny pants IF it feels fun to you. Quilted vest takes a love of more vintage-y things, retro, mixed with modern.
Also anything you keep should fit YOU really well.

Hi NV! I'm still in my 20s too (for a few more weeks, at least!). I totally feel you on letting go of thrift store or discount finds. Sometimes you keep something that felt like such a great score that even though you never wear it, you have a hard time parting with it... it's all one of a kind, after all.

Even if you don't post pics for us, spending some time styling these items and taking photos for your own use will help give you some perspective on whether these garments are worth saving.

I think there has to be something you like about them to be worth the effort!

If you do like them, I think #1 would be great with a tan belt and sandals - it might take the pressure off the monochrome look and tone in with the ivory?

The thigh high boots I think are least risky when worn over leggings or slim trousers the same colour - as Chirico said, probably black skinny jeans?

I like the cut of #2, but then I am mid-30s with a wobbly tummy! Whether this works for you probably depends on whether chocolate is a good colour for you. If it's one of 'your' colours, then keep it. If it makes you look sallow, toss, because there's only so much accessorising you can do.

I'll leave the styling suggestions to others, but I just wanted to say that if you feel less than happy in any of these pieces, it's probably best to let them go.

Agree with Shaz: it would be nice to see you in them. Anyway
#1 - have fun trying different combinations: skinny jeans, flares, dressier pants, cropped flares, capris or a black skirt. See how wearing these outfits makes you feel.
If at least one combnation makes you feel fab, keep it. Otherwise toss it.
#2 - brown or tan boots or even better, booties and a long gold necklace - first thing that came to my mind. But try with what you have in your closet. Same criterium as above: at least one combination must make you feel fab. If not toss.
#3 - from your description looks like you don't like it. May be send it to a new home? Same for the chinese top.
#5 & 7 - skinnies, first thing that came to my mind. Again experiment and see how you feel.
#8 - try them with capris, summer pants or skirts you already own, then apply the same criterium.
The hat - I just love this kind of hats! If you feel weird wearing it out and about, try wearing it at the beach ot swimming pool with dark sunglasses. Very glam!

Hi it's hard to tell without seeing you wear them but number 3 sounds like it's far to big on you but then again would be best seen on first to know for sure. Number 1 does not look dirty maybe add some fun shoes and jewellery or could you wear legging or skiinny jeans under it? Sorry hard to tell if it's a dress or top from photo. Two again try it on maybe mix it with your heals see how that looks 5 try it belted with flares something of a brighter color underneath. 6 maybe with slim pants or pencil skirt. The hat wear it for relaxed summer look four maybe it's the pleats that make you feel frumpy

Over the years ive found some pieces i couldnt pass up. I paid little to nothing and had to have them. But now i never wear them. Im working on figuring out how to wear them or if i should toss them. Im 22 and im still figuring out what dosent make me look frumpy, aged, or immature. Can any of these be mixed? Im at such a loss with these.

#1) Black with little ivory squares. This one was in a pile of clothes my aunt was getting rid of. I worry that the ivory makes it look dirty, and if it makes me look to old.

#2) Also from my aunt, Its a dark chocolate color. I feel comfortable in it, and i like that it isnt as revealing. My concerns are if it makes me look old, and i wouldnt know what shoes to wear with this.

#3) The Trench is a dark chocolate colors. And it feels very stiff. Its also very long. Im a short person and this comes down to my calves. Should i even keep it?

#4) My mom talked me into getting this one. The material is to die for, and i think the pattern is fun. But when i wear it i feel frumpy. I typically just wear it around the house on hot days.

#5) Its a black suede, it comes down to my knees, and im not sure how to appropriately wear it. Its very fun, but i cant figure out where to start with it.

#6) Japanese style top. Its cute. But its surprisingly very hot to wear.

#7) Thigh high black boots. They were an impulse buy when i saw i could get them for $10. But how do you wear them without looking trashy?

#8) The heels are teal and tan with gold trim. Ive had them for 5 years and ive sadly only worn them once.

#9) Its a navy color, and im just curious if its acceptable to wear in public or should i just stick to wearing it when gardening and such?
