I must echo everyone and say the coat is super fantabulous on you. Wool and alpaca sounds like high quality to me; almost all I see are at least partially man-made fibers. Don't try to wait for a sale - either it will be the wrong color or the wrong size that's left. It looks a bit brighter in the pics than in real life (flash came on) but not a lot. Think cranberry or raspberry vs. tomato or red pepper (more like true red, depending on the ripeness of your imaginary tomato, I suppose). I am not sure which vegetable is like an orange or coral red; maybe a red carrot. I think some of the best purchases are made when we are not desperatlely looking for something, but when it "finds" us. Is this what Angie calls a happy accident?</p> <p>To find a color that not only lights up your complexion, but that makes your heart sing is a very lucky find in a winter coat. You can wear it everyday, unlike a blouse or sweater. And with all of the different neckline options, you will have lots of choices on how to style it. I'm betting you have and love this coat for many years. Just figure out your cost per wear for 5-7 years if you need to give yourself persmission to make the investment. I'm almost as red as the coat!! </p> <p>Angie and all, thank you for your kind words about the colour. This is one of my absolute favourite colours and I so rarely find it. I walked into The Bay with NO intentions of coat shopping. I was actually there to pick up a belt (more on that in another post). But when I saw that red in the coat section I was like a bull. I charged towards it! Found the smallest size they had (it's a four regular), grabbed it, put it on, took it off and ran to the cash! </p> <p>It is really great to have my instincts confirmed. </p> <p>I must say, it also FEELS heavenly. I do want to find out how it wears, though. I'll do a bit of research on the fabrication. </p> <p>And Sveta, if you need a coat, definitely go to the Bay. They just got their big shipment in and I am sure they have more in London than in Kingston. There were many styles by Hilary Radley and also Calvin Kleins and some others. I desperately need a new winter coat. Currently, I own a down jacket (15 years old, no joke) and two puffer coats that are ugly and falling apart. </p> <p>This coat is made of wool and alpaca. Do any of you have any experience with this blend? It is a Hilary Radley coat, and quite expensive. I would have waited for a sale, but they only had one in a small size, so I wanted to bring it home to try on and show you; I might possibly take it back and then order it online on a sale day. Or it might not be worth the risk, if it's really a 10. </p> <p>One concern I had - it is wrinkled on the back bottom (from packing) and the wrinkles have not fallen out. I am sure the store should have steamed them out, but they did not, and I wonder if it will tend to wrinkle like that all the time. </p> <p>The colour (they call it cerise) is actually more of a cranberry red IRL. </p> <p>It has an asymetrical closure and a changeable collar. Worn wide open, it unfortunately shows a button and some seam binding, but pinned almost all the way open with a scarf, that would be hidden and I could still get that open collar effect (which I quite like). I think the drape would be improved without the heavy tag also pulling on it. </p> <p>I am wearing it over a dress, thin sweater, and jacket. Is the fit okay? You can see my dress peeking out the bottom. Okay, or not? And will it look okay with boots and tucked pants? I tried it and it seemed fine to my eye. </p> <p>Apologies for the lack of hose! Obviously it would look better with tights. </p> <p>Is it a keeper? Does it have staying power? </p>
