Just adding, I have had a pair of high-heeled clogs for two or three years now--before they were a trend. I agree with Lisa that clogs are classic and always available.

ETA: Also I have a pair of boots from Dansko for three years now and they hold up very well to heavy use. The price was steep for me at the time, even on sale, but in the end it was so worth it because I wear them all the time and they are still going strong.

Mo, it really depends on your Summer temperatures! I can wear boots in the Summertime if Seattle is having a chilly Summer. Last year I wore my cream knee high boots and apple green cowboy boots all Summer long.

Sooooo, clogs can be a Summer shoe. Louise bought a white pair that she wore in Summer (in the UK). Conversely, if you wear socks and flared leg pants, they are a Winter shoe too. But your Winters would have to be quite mild.

Thanks so much for reading, everyone. I am leaning towards keeping them. No, I mean it. I have always liked clogs and I think they work with my style. I was mainly concerned with the trend's longevity, but you're right: I always see someone wearing clogs, and I never think they're hopelessly out of style. These are pricey, but they are also of good quality and I find them very comfortable. Thanks again for your help!

Love the intro! I like these - with the bit of a heel. I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman black clogs with a similar heel and like to wear them with my Gap Long & Leans. Unfortunately with our recent Chicagoland blizzard, I'm only wearing skinny pants with snow boots these days. But I hope to wear my clog combo again soon.

I like the clog look, I actually consider clogs a classic look. You really can always find a pair season to season. Similar to cowboy boots, another item you can typically find yet how mainstream they are varies season to season, I vote keep!

Honestly? I love them and would love a pair myself. I vote keep. Keep! So cute and versatile. You'll probably get a lot of mileage out of them once the weather warms a little.

Welll...you can get a similar look for a lot less. I have these, but in a different color:

http://www.onlineshoes.com/wom.....pf_id60001

These are comfortable, and built with a contoured footbed. They are easy for me to walk in, but as is the case with all backless shoes I have the same hem-under-foot problem that CocoLion mentions if I put them with the wrong length pants.

I don't see the color as a problem for spring (mine are the bronze tho). As to whether they're worth it for the ongoing fashion quotient...I was able to snag mine for $40 and have no regrets.

I'm with CocoLion - I have platform clogs from over 5 years ago that I adore. I think it's fair to say they are something I'd wear whether 'in vogue' or not. Will you? I don't think they would work for summer (too heavy) but I disagreee that they can't work for winter. I have some other shearling lined mule/clogs that have the open back that I wear in the snow in Tahoe, as long as it's not more than a few fresh inches on the ground. Just avoid puddles ;)
http://www.amazon.com/Aerosole.....B002AQS57W

Purely for kicks, here is a shot of my BF trying on his best friend's all wooden clogs ala the Netherlands on our trip home this November. Too funny! Not comfortable, I wood (ha ha) imagine.

Clogs are classic IMO, I think you will wear them for years. I have clogs I purchased in 2004 with a bit of fur on them and I still saw this style this year. Plus Dansko clogs provide comfort. The only issue I have with clogs is that when I wear bootcut jeans and flat clogs, the hem gets caught under my foot. This doesn't seem to happen as often with higher clogs.

Your intro hooked me in !!!!! : )

I think that they are lovely. But to your questions, I think that they will be ok for Spring, but not for summer. I also don't think that they are a great Winter alternative because they are open ( it would just be too cold for me ). How about a bootie ? I say that for something trendy that you are unsure about, go inexpensive.

Though I LOVE this look, I think that this is going to be a fad and you won't get years wear out of them unless they are definitely your style no matter what is in. Only you can decide that.

This is probably just another of my attempts to get a bunch of people who don't even know me to assuage my buyer's remorse over something I'll inevitably end up returning anyway. But if you're still with me after that enticing intro, I truly would appreciate some input on these clogs. I love them, and I really need a cool-weather alternative to boots to wear with longer-length jeans. But they are a little pricey for me, and I'm worried that the dark color won't work with spring clothes (I have them in brown).

What do you think? Will this clogs trend last long enough to justify the cost? And will the color work for spring, or do I need something lighter?
