Sorry, should have updated and said that all these shoes are already out of the house and on their way back. I will reorder the patent sandals in an 8E the next time there is a sale (or I desperately need shoes).

Also, I solved my flat waterproof boot hole by ordering the green Fluevog Bondgirls that I really wanted in the first place. I'm sure a pair of flat black boots will make its way into my life at some point in time, but now I can wait indefinitely.

Krishnidoux, I don't *really* hate my feet. What I should have said is that I dislike the fact that manufacturers don't always make shoes to fit my perfectly normal wide feet. :)

Isabella, I have found Nine West shoes and pretty much any "fashionable" sandal sold in department stores to be so narrow I can't even get my foot in. If your foot slides out of those, then you definitely have my sympathy.

Thanks again to all for the feedback.

The boots look a bit loose to me for the style - I vote return. They look a bit like rain boots because of the fit.

I sympathize with the wide foot dilemma! I'm a 5.5 and a double wide... no cute strappy shoes for me! I like the patent better of the two.

I agree with the 'no issue with boots pre-YLF times' statement LOL. After I educated myself about proper fit a little, I concluded that all my boots were way too big in the calf and started slowly exchanging them, which is not easy as I have skinny calves. As much as I love them, they are too gapey on top and seem too big in the calf overall..
Your feet look fine, don't hate them! I have skinny flat feet with bunions, that slide out out of most sandals - you wanna trade?

I think the boots gap a little too much for the pants you'd wear them with, as others have said. I think I prefer the patent sandals, and I think you should at least try out the 8Es, as it looks like you have some room to spare in the footbeds here. I don't know if the change will be just right or too dramatic, but it's worth a go!

Nice boots, I agree with others, they look a tad big in the calf. I prefer the patent sandals. Don't stress, I struggle with shoes because of my bunions, I can't grab wide, usually they are too wide but many other shoes are too narrow. I have to pay very close attention to the shape of the toe box on shoes.

Don't hate your wide feet! They look perfectly proportioned, and I`m sure they provide you with great balance. More and more shoes are made to accommodate more shapes, especially "wider" feet, which should probably be called "normal" feet.

Thank you all!

I thought the boots were too loose and it helps to have it corroborated. I just felt like they were clunky and my calves were swimming in them and while I wouldn't have noticed it six months ago, you lot have spoiled me.

I prefer the look of the patent sandals - these are going to be dress sandals for wearing to formal events. I hate my wide feet *sigh*. I can't believe they're hanging out of the 8 C/D sandal. I will try to exchange for the 8E.

I vote return the boots. I love the style but I think they are too tall which is causing the gaping. I like both of the sandals, do you have a preference? x

The boots gap a little at the top and are too loose at the ankle. Keep looking.
As for the sandals I agree the patent looks better on these photos. If 8E is available, do try them: should they fit but then become too loose, a cobbler can fix it. A cobbler is not as expensive as a podiatrist.

I agree that the boots look a tad big but I don't think it's too noticeable. I like both of the sandals but I think I prefer the cloth ones. I'm really liking the silver accent on them I would try the size smaller they look a little big. Love them all though

The boots look pretty good to me. They do seem a bit loose, but I think it works with the style.

For the sandals, I think it depends on what you'll be wearing them to and with. I like the hint of silver in the second pair, and can't decide if it makes them more or less versatile (I think more...). I would say if they feel comfy then just punch a hole, but can you try the two sizes side by side to compare?

Those are nice boots, but they look a little loose on you -- not bad though, just a little loose. Let's see what others think on that issue.

Liking the patent sandals better than the fabric (also, they will stretch better too to accomodate your foot). They do look a little long, and your baby toe is peeking out from the sandal. I would see about the 8E if they have it or even 8D.

In the spirit of shopping off season, I acquired a pair of flat black knee high La Canadienne boots. I'm leaning against them because of an issue that I never would have noticed pre-YLF... not going to mention it though because I want to see what others think.

Picture 1: With thick cotton "denim" leggings
Picture 2: With skinny jeans.

Also, please help me decide between the patent version and fabric version of a pair of sandals. These are 8.5 C/D. I have really wide feet and the strap is long so I'm wondering whether to sizedown to 8E (if available) or just punch extra holes in the strap.

Picture 3: Patent version
Picture 4: Fabric version

Thanks in advance!
