If your arches are unhappy, I would for sure exchange them for something lower. I have the Clarks Plover from last year, and I wore them a lot, but my kids are grade school age now. If your kids are toddlers, for example, I could totally understand wanting something lower.

I vote return them - the fact that you have doubts about when you'd wear them, that your arches spasm when you wear them and that you are just plain not sure are the deciders for me.

And off topic slightly, but I received a pair of shoes yesterday which I couldn't decide whether to keep or not - for similar reasons, plus I'm not sure about the colour - replying to your question has made up my mind - they're going back!!

They really don't look that high. 4 inches? I would guess 2 - 2.5. Anyway they are GORGEOUS. It can take time to get used to a bit of a heel. Definitely good to have at least one pair of summer going out shoes. These look classic enough to wear for several years.

I really like them but if you are concerned why not get a pair with a lower wedge and compare the two? The color of these looks similar but they are 3" instead of 4". http://www.zappos.com/clarks-f.....ge-leather

Denise- You may be onto something. I wondered if they were the right size when I first got them. They seem a tad short. My arches do spasm a little sometimes when I try to wear them around the house. That's when I thought I needed to return them. Maybe the arch is hitting at a funny point on my foot and a half size larger would help.

They feel pretty stable and comfy, although high. I could definitely get used to the look and I think they would be ok for wearing in most situations for me, not all situations, but most.

These are fab! If it's a question of physical comfort alone, I would say don't keep them. I never ever wear shoes that are painful or can't be worn for as long as I may need to wear them. And I am not a heels gal for that reason.

If it is a question of fashion comfort zone, then keep them - you will be pushing in a new direction and I think it's one you've wanted to take!

I love them... I want that look on a 2 - 2.5" wedge! Why can't they make them? LOL. I realize that the appeal of the sandal is also because the wedge is high... I wouldn't wear them while out and about with kiddos (unless I had husband with and he could do the chasing!) but they are perfect for date nights, mom-alone time, or as someone said- library, grocery shopping and such. Make sure you get your foot used to the height first though

I love these too!! I couldn't see myself wearing them as an every day chasing after the kids all day long kind of shoe. Maybe a 3 hour shoe... like put them on when you are leaving the house and put on slippers when you get home. They are really great shoes!

I think the shoes are really cute and would work with a lot of different looks. Realistically though if you aren't comfortable in them, you likely won't wear them often. If you have room in your closet for shoes you only wear occasionally, then keep. If you want something that will be a go-to shoe, then there are other really cute shoes with a lower wedge. You should only buy/keep what you love and know you will enjoy.

I vote keep, even if you only wear them now and then. It's nice to have a pair of cute and comfy high heels. You can't beat platform wedges for stability. After wearing them around the house for several hours you'll have a better idea how much you'll actually wear them I think.

But even if it's just to go out with friends or your husband, I'd keep.

I think wedges are SO much easier to wear than regular heels....have you tried any foot pads to make them more comfy? They have the 'ball of foot' cushion that helps stop your feet from sliding forward. I would limit them to 'in-house' walking till you feel really confident in them. Remember even a small stone or bump in pavement can make you feel a bit unsteady, so please watch yourself when you're outside in them till you feel secure. Its natural to feel 'different' when you try a new type of heel height, but you'll get used to it! They look really terrific and if you can make them comfortable (to me, thats the main thing) you should keep and wear them!

I have those sandals and I love them. So comfy! But I don't have to dart around after kids.

It sounds like you're trying to talk yourself into keeping them. It doesn't matter what anyone one else wears or likes. If you're not comfortable with the idea of a wedge, you probably won't wear them. There will be other heels later on if/when you're ready to try heels! If you honestly don't think you'll wear them, there's no point in forcing yourself.

I can't remember if you wear Converse? Or are you looking for a flat/low sandal?

I have several pairs of shoes I would not expect to run around in. And I'm fine with that - I just know going into it that they will be worn infrequently and when I'm not expecting to be on my feet much. I also have daily running around shoes. Two different animals And they fill completely different needs in my wardrobe. Are you wanting these to do both or are you not sure you could wear them even as 'sitting shoes'?

It depends. You have to be realistic about how you'll wear them, and if it's worth it to you. I have a very similar pair (http://www.zappos.com/indigo-b.....?zlfid=111) and I knew I wouldn't be getting a ton of use out of them. Realistically, I might be able to get away with them for a day of work (I have a sitting job). But not much else. $100 was too much given their limited wear.

I ended up buying them on ebay for around $50, which was inexpensive enough that I felt ok if I only wore them a couple of times a month.

That said, I don't feel unstable in them. For me it's just ball-of-foot pain. If I felt wobbly or like I might fall, I don't know if I would have bothered. Normally I wouldn't even give 3.25" heels a glance, but the platform and famous Clarks comfort made these manageable.

I have similar sandals I bought a few years ago and I rarely wore them b/c they are too high (3.5") -- they are orphans. I am now looking for someone I can give them to that will wear them. It's great to have a "fab" shoe, but in my definition that includes one I can comfortably walk in, not just as Angie says "sitting shoes". I vote return, unless you are buying them for home decor.

Cileena, if they are comfy, I think you should keep them and continue to try them out a bit. It sounds like this might be more of a psychological block than anything else? Of course, you don't want to twist your ankle, but I would try it out.

The other day I walked around in six inch wedges for the first time! Even for an avowed heel wearer, that was a challenge. But I'm sticking with them!

If these are going to be a truly every day MOTG sandals, I'd tend to agree with Kari. I wear heels like that now but my children are older and I'm not chasing them around anymore. I tended to wear lower heeled sandals or sneaks when with my little ones--navigating lawn and tanbark is too hard in heels, IMHO. That being said, they are a great casual sandal and I'm betting look great with that rolled up boyfriend style jean you show in the pics. What about hanging on to them for trips when you know you'll be on even ground--store, school, library, etc so you can get used to them. You could wear them for summer BBQ's too. There's nothing quite as nice as a heel like that to lengthen the leg line : )

Cilleena, I bought these too. My usual comfort zone for heels is 2.5 inches, which I feel these are because they are 3.5 inches with a 1 inch platform. So my arch is the same as if 2.5. They are high because I stand at 3.5 which I love and they are so comfortable. I wore to Spy Museum in DC and was comfortable the whole time. I couldn't believe it. So that's my 2 cents. I agree that it's good to wear around house to see if they will ultimately work for you.

Cilleena - I'd recommend that you try them out walking around the house as much as possible before you decide whether to keep them or not. Certainly give them a try and see if they will be comfortable for you when you are moving around & if it's just a matter of adjusting to the height, or if 4" is just above your personal comfort zone.

My perspective is different from Julie's - I think you definitely *can* feel fab in something lower, and I feel much more fab in 2 - 3" heels that are stable and comfortable AND cute than I do when I wear higher 3.5 - 4" heels that give me arch spasms, won't let me walk comfortably for more than a few blocks at a time, and make me feel like I might trip, or even when I wear shoes that I know are going to give me blisters after a while. Basically I feel fab when I am confident that my wardrobe is not going to be a hassle and make me feel self-conscious.

And what's wrong with feeling differently? Do you feel differently in a bad way, or a good way. What's wrong with occasionally going out without kids.

Really, really high broadens your horizons, literally. And, if the are comfy, you're not stepping too far out of your comfort zone. And trust me, you never feel as fab in something lower.

Cheer

I really love the look of these Long Pond Sandals and they are pretty comfy too. But, I keep debating whether to send them back or not. They are just so high at almost 4" for me. They feel good when I first put them on, but I can't see myself wearing on a regular basis because of how much they stretch out my arch and I'm afraid I'll twist my ankle.
They are fine for going out without kids, but I don't do that very often.
I keep thinking I can feel just as fab in some lower heeled nude/beige sandals. Or, should I try them out anyway? Since they are pretty comfy and cute. Maybe I just need to step out of my comfort zone? They don't HURT really...I just feel different and really, really high.
