Thanks, Kari. I will be keeping it since I've gotten YLF approval. That's especially exciting since I got in during Cyber Week for 40% off!!

I so love that chevron seaming. I hope that you keep it, Becky. That's a fun, cheery color when it is cold and dark outside. If I lived in a colder climate, I would totally have gone for the dark blue/purple long chevron seamed Land's End puffer.

Cciele, thanks for the vote of confidence on the color. I like very much the toasty warmth of the coat, the cheerful color, and the fact that the sleeves aren't miles too long! However, I have next to no confidence in my ability to discern whether a coat this bulky is flattering. That's why I value YLF feedback so greatly! :-)

Kristine, I wondered about that. Yes, there are two longer versions available, one mid-thigh (parka), and one above the knee (coat). The reason I went with this one is I thought I might more easily get by with a voluminous top/streamlined bottoms look with a shorter jacket, versus a longer parka/coat that would add more bulk for most of my height. Did I miscalculate?

It's cute on you, but I think a longer puffer might work better. Puffers are bulky no matter what, but a longer puffer seems more proportioned and long-lined if that makes sense. Do they have a longer version of a similar coat?

I love that color on you! Very cute and adds a pop of color to those dreary winter days. I think it looks ok, but it's a little hard for me to tell because of the angle of the shot; it looks a bit bulky (then again, what puffer doesn't?) but might have to do with the way you're standing. Do you like it?

Kelly, this would be a casual coat. Good point about possibly choosing a more conservative color for work. I actually just ordered the smallest petite size available (size XS). I get so frustrated with the size charts because half the time they're not even reasonably close, so I tend to just *guess* based on past experience with a brand and go from there. I actually sent both the plaid and red jackets back. I just wasn't comfortable with the roomier silhouette of the plaid, and couldn't ever see myself loving the fabrication of the red (though the color was yummy!), so I decided to hold out for something perfect.

Oh, Isabel, that's too bad about the down, especially if you live in MA. Yes, LE has a great return policy. I ordered online, but the aubergine color did not appear to be available in petite sizes at all (for this particular jacket). This one is a petite XS.

Michelle and motherofms, it's good to know you've had good experiences with your LE down. I don't really have a warm coat right now, so this would fill a gap in my coat wardrobe.

Steph, I think you're right; a puffer is by definition, well, *puffy*! I just don't want to look like the Michelin man or anything! :-)

Wilson, I had the same questions, which is why I posted. I lack confidence when it comes to selecting coats and jackets, especially since they tend to be higher-priced pieces. I want to make sure it's just right before I keep it.

AJ, thanks. I like the color, too. My coat wardrobe is becoming quite colorful; I have a red lady coat, just purchased the Gallery trench in purple, and now a pink puffer?! What next?!

I think it's cute and the color is flattering on you. Is this a commuter or something for casual days? If it is for commuting to work, I would probably opt for a more conservative color. If this is for casual and fun, I would keep. It looks great with jeans! Makes me want one--although wouldn't get much use for me here in Cali! Out of curiosity, did you order per the petite size chart? Gotta love being able tosee your hands in this pic. Did you end up keeping your plaid and red jackets?

I like it. Yes, there is a tad bit of bulk, but it's a puffer. The fit looks good and the color is so fun during bleak winter days! Keep.

Hi Becky; I just don't know about the jacket, it seems a little too puffy and square to me. But don't take my opinion too heavily because I'm not really sure what shorter puffers are "supposed" to look like. In fact, I'll be posting my short white puffer later to get feedback too. The color is so vibrant, crisp and fresh, which is nice to see outside in the dead of winter.

I have a LE puffer coat too. It is nice and warm for these below freezing temps. The color you chose seems to really work well with your complexion and I love the faux fur trimmed hood.

Just had to give you a high five -- I'm wearing my long version of the LE chevron coat today and loving it. It's surprisingly thin and lightweight, but I feel I could walk to the north poll without so much as shivering when I wear it!

Hi Becky,

I love the coat ! I want a LE chevron puffer badly, but both my daughter and I are allergic to down. So , no, I don't think that the puffer silhouette on this is overly "bulky". I also think that to stay warm, one either layers a heck of a lot or you have on a bulkier coat, there is not way to avoid this altogether.

I don't know about the color, it is hard to tell on the picture. It seems to flatter you....the great thing about LE is that you can return it any time if you aren't completely happy with it. I say, wear it a few time, if you are still unsure of the color, then don't keep it. The Aubergine would have been lovely. Could you call a few stores and see if they have it ? I can look in our two local Sears, too. What size are you looking for ?

Inspired by the photos in the Land's End puffer giveaway, I ordered the Chevron Down Jacket. It is *toasty* warm and seems to fit well (even the sleeves, can you believe it?!), but of course I'm always leery of puffers because of their tendency to add bulk. I'm also unsure whether this pink is too warm a pink for me. The colors I really wanted (aubergine or light silver metallic) weren't available in petite. What do you think? Given that this is a puffer, is it at least reasonably flattering, shapewise? And what is your impression of the color? Thanks in advance for your comments! I am sooo thankful for YLF feedback!
