Down skirt sounds fab :)

The model is 6ft and the frock is shorter on her than the dress is on you right now. I vote above the knee-cap little petite darling.

KILLER specs, by the way. That purple is so delicious against your skin tone I can barely stand it.

Angie, I appreciate the reality check! I often look at photos of my husband and me and wonder why he looks so tall. Um, he's 13 inches taller than me, that's why. I think I have a short girl complex and think of myself as way taller than I am. :)

Here is the picture, though. Is this considered knee-length or above-knee?

Thanks all! Angie, 5-7 inches? I'm thinking that would be mid-thigh on me. Is there a picture somewhere of where the hem of a dress this shape should fall?

April, definitely! I bought the textured tights in this picture:

http://www.garnethill.com/a-li.....ses/189209

I hear you on the volume. It may be one of those pieces that is better in motion.... I have to admit, I have horrible trouble with belts, maybe because of my huge shoulders and lack of waist. I prefer the pyramid/trapeze/a-line shapes even if it means surrendering the waist.

I like all three. With #1 I would hem it a little and add a scarf. #2 is adorable with jeans and #3 would be good with a scarf or some long necklaces. Good buys!

I'm not normally a plaid fan myself, but the cut of this shirt/dress appealed to me in my desperate search for longer tunic-type clothing for casual wear.

I love the first dress; it looks like a great basic that you could wear lots of ways. The kurta is just lovely. I don't really like plaid, much, in any configuration, so I'll leave commenting on that piece to others.

A better picture of the plaid tunic (ignore my face!), and a close-up of the kurta! It's kind a shimmery maroon - hard to capture. The pintucking is what I love.

I'm not loving the GH dress, AG -- but then I have trouble with volume so don't go by me. If you keep it, I would suggest pairing it with textured hose that have some sheerness to them instead of opaque tights.

I like the red plaid tunic (in spite of how startling it looks with the leggings, hee hee) and I like the last dress as well. I know it's a tunic, but it's dress-length and seems like it could be worn that way?

The details are sort of hard to make out, but in general, I like the first dress on you. The sleeves are nice, the neckline is nice, and the length is good. It looks like a good basic, if you like it and think you'll get lots of wear out of it. I would love to see a fab scarf around your neck, and a pair of your cool boots. I really don't get the built-in bra (?)--could you remove it?

I like the idea of the plaid tunic, and the price can't be beat, but its oversized-ness, coupled with the cut and the plaid, adds a bit to it seeming sort of juvenile, IMHO. If you go down a size, is there still plenty of room for layering underneath? (I'm thinking you want to put a long-sleeved t under there, or a turtleneck, not a puffer coat, right? :)

I like the kurta on you a lot, and I think it would be great with skinnies and tall boots.

#1 I like although I think you might want to belt it?
#2 I am not sure about as it really seems to be too big for you (but then - again - you can always belt it).
#3... it is really difficult to say as I like the lenght but - again - not sure about the shape...I wonder whether or not rolling up the sleeves could make the difference?

Leah, the lighting is horrible in the morning. It's actually a nice pink and brown pattern. I will take a better photo now that it's later.... The jurta is cotton but it has pintuck stitching all over. Fabindia has wonderful clothes - I wish they would open stores in the US!

The Garnet Hill dress does need to be shorter, but it's got that swingy shift look that I really adore.
I think the plaid tunic is cute for casual wear. I don't think it's in your best colours but that also could be the lighting. Would have to see it styled the way you're going to wear it. For $10 it's pretty good though.
I love the kurta. Beautiful colour and I love the way that the fabric (is it cotton or silk?) falls, structured but not harsh. The original tunic!

Okay, here's that black jersey Garnet Hill dress. It has an odd shelf bra that isn't really helpful, and it is very non-fitted, but very it's comfy and a much nicer material than the flimsy cotton I imagined it might be. It seems to have an Eileen Fisher aesthetic. Keep? Shorten?

Also, here's a plaid tunic thing I picked up for $10 at the local grocery/everything store. I would not wear it with these leggings, of course, but I was too lazy to change them. It's a size big so I can wear something warm under it, and I was hoping it would have this kind of effect for $118 less:

http://www.jcrew.com/womens_ca...../34096.jsp

Finally, a kurta from India (Fabindia, specifically) - this is a typical length for me and I wear it with skinnies (as well as the traditional Indian salvar/churidar). No-no?
