Sad sad sad about the peeptoe booties! They looked promising. Ah well.

If the boots fit a purpose in your wardrobe and the fit is comfy (although knowing our weather I would try to make sure you can wear a decently thick sock with them), then keep!

Glad your oxfords had a successful run on their first day.

Ha, I knew if I asked over here I would get more "keep" responses! My blogger readers are too frugal. LOL!

I wore the oxfords yesterday to work and loved them. There was no squeaking and they were very comfortable. What I like about them most is that I can wear them with skinnies/jeans/possibly skirts to funk up an outfit but they also work very well with a regular work outfit of bootcuts. The laceless and the patent keeps it from being boring. They will work well just as I intended, as an alternate to flats as it gets colder.

The boots I am still torn on; general consensus says to keep trying, mostly because of the comfort level. I guess I overstated that con, because they're not that bad. There were also several comments about the color, which surprised me. I am not hung up on insisting any "bookending" match perfectly, and I already have gorgeous dressy black and brown boots. I like these *because* of the rugged, marbled look -- they're not going to last me ten seasons, but like Taylor asked, they fit the purpose that I have in mind. This is a big change for me, to buy boots that are for a specific type of outfit and purpose instead of expecting them to work in every occasion. They're my "play" boots, not my "school" boots, as it were. :)

The only thing about the fit that I don't like is that they don't have as much room in the foot as they do in the leg, so I am not sure if I can get a thicker sock in there. I will test this weekend around the house.

Kendra, you asked on the blog about the circumference: 16 inches according to Piperlime. That seems about right.

I did get the toeless booties yesterday, and they are going right back: not comfortable at ALL. The left one is too tight (my left foot is a little larger than my right) and the angle and fabrication is such that when I am in tights my feet slide down too much and put all the pressure on my toes instead of my heels. Without tights I just stick to the leather everywhere. Very uncomfortable. Ah well!

The boots seem to fit you well, but I am not sure if the color goes with your coloring. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, though. The oxfords are very cute and those booties look fun!

Uncomfortable gets an immediate pass, no point in even considering keeping an uncomfortable piece of footwear.

I would pass of the grey boots. They look fantastic but there is no point on keeping something that is not comfortable.

#2 and #3 , I would keep.

Kristen, I'm a little meh on the boots. Do you have a chestnut or lighter pair? That might be nice for bookending with your hair. Plus, if these aren't comfy, I don't know if they would be worth it.

The flat oxfords look great - I like the patent and it has a feminine feel which will work well.

LOVE the booties! They are SO cool!

i WANT those boots now! seriously fab. but it's synthetic...do your feet get sweaty?

LOVE the laceless oxfords. fun fun fun. will have to see with skirts. i get the concept of replacing warm weather flats with cool weather flats, but oxfords and, say, ballet slippers read differently with the same outfit.

MAD for those naya's. though the open toe still throws me. how do you keep your toes warm?

Kristen... If the boots are not to die for comfortable, I'd hold off. Especially if you're wanting something for weekends and casual days, you are going to hesitate wearing anything that isn't 100% comfort for those occasions.
The oxfords are very nice! keep those.

I have acquired two new types of footwear that I am soliciting opinions about:

1. A rugged-ish grey-brown pair of tall boots. Would be for weekends and dressing-down office days. They're a little out of my usual style, but since they are dirt cheap and supposed to be for fun I am thinking they would be a good addition to my closet.

2. Flat patent oxfords in black. Not with the skinnies in the picture (that look does not work for me) but to replace flats when it is too cold to wear them, with bootcuts and possibly a skirt or two on dressing-down office days. I was a little irked that they reminded me too much of my FS Deers, but then it dawned on me that those were heeled oxfords and these are flat. They are supposed to be the same, d'oh! (Sometimes I have blonde moments.)

http://lowfatdressing.blogspot.....ition.html

I also have this pair of open-toed booties coming. Eeee!
http://www.zappos.com/naya-ana-black-soft-leather

So what do you think: keep or return?
