Yay! Thank you all for chiming in. I'm glad that the jacket works. Now we'll see if I can get a discount or at least a free repair. The sale price was *really* good, and I'm just tickled that I was able to score it before it went out of stock entirely, so I'd be okay if they simply repaired it at their cost rather than discounting the jacket.

This is *such* a good Seattle garment. You can't get enough of this type of thing around here Kari

Kari, this jacket is going to be such a workhorse in your wardrobe. Truly a four season piece. I love this with the pencil skirt and scarf, but just think how awesome it will be with trousers, skinnies and knee boots.

p.s. I love that it came with its own belt. Very fun.

Great jacket! I can see this being a really versatile piece. I personally would only keep if they did a price adjustment, but that's because I am neurotic and it would drive me crazy otherwise. Also love the scarf.

I think you are absolutely right that this will be a 3-season jacket for Seattle - looks very versatile and could be dressed up or down easily. I like the way you've styled it here and I'm thinking it would look great with a simple white tee and jeans too. Ditto what San and Debbie said - definitely take it back to Anthro and see if they'll discount it further for you. It's worth a shot if nothing else. Beautiful scarf!

Modgrl, it feels very comfortable. Stylistically, I don't think it feels like such a far cry from my current style that I'm uncomfortable - it's just a transition.

Good point, Kate. I was thinking (because of the cotton/linen blend material) that this could be a pretty good 3 season jacket - transitioning from Spring to summer, layering on a chilly summer evening, and transitioning back in to fall. I hope it will prove to be as versatile as I'm anticipating.

Thanks for the suggestion, San and Debbie. Somehow that idea just did not occur to me. I'll give them a call or else pop down to my nearest Anthro store and see if they can process a price adjustment, since the jacket is now totally sold out.

You look absolutely gorgeous. I love this jacket better than any military jacket. It has the slight nuances without being too much. Great choice. I think though that you will, and should, get a discount for having it be defective, or get another one that is made properly.
The scarf is also beautiful. You have such great taste and always look so good. Ofcourse your smile tops everything off.

I vote keep! I looks versatile and I like the pattern on the inside of the sleeves. And the stitching should be a very easy fix. For what it's worth, I think it should be a great length, especially in Seattle where you don't want anything to be too cropped because we need those extra couple inches of warmth!

This jacket that I spotted at Anthropologie during the Seattle meetup recently went on sale for less than 50% of its original listed price, so I ordered one of the last pieces in stock to try out. Reading the reviews online, I opted to size up and was glad that I did - it fits nicely but not too snugly over a tee shirt, has plenty of room in the bust and shoulders, but isn't too bulky. I think the jacket is intended to be a tiny bit more cropped than how it actually appears on me, but as I'm very short-waisted, normally a cropped jacket ends up being hip-length on me anyway.
The main disappointment is that one of the side seams under the armpit is not sewed together very well, like the sewing machine just missed a section. I think it's something that would be very easy for my mom to reinforce, though.

So... the question is, do I keep it? It's definitely a bit different than my usual moto jacket/blazer rotation, and part of the reason I tried it is that it seemed like it could kind of give me a different direction with my business casual/smart casual wardrobe. It's also subtly picking up the vibe of the military jackets that I had lusted over a couple seasons ago - I was never able to find a military jacket that really made my senses tingle.
I could picture wearing this in a business casual outfit like this one below - with a pencil skirt or a simple dress - or even with bermuda shorts during summer.

Or... maybe you ladies can think of even better suggestions about how I should wear it if it is deemed a keep-able piece.

What do you think?

(The silk scarf is also new via the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale.)
