They fit great around the back, very nice. I would definitely shorten them, they will have a cleaner line. And I think stacking around the ankle is waning in popularity. Don't use your regular inseam as you would for bootcuts. My bootcut inseam, worn with flats is 31". For skinnies, I hem them to 29".
