Either of these would be acceptable, not overly gearish. The Keens seem to have a bit more support on the side, just check that you wouldn't 'walk out' of the Tevas if the terrain was a bit rough.

Yup, also what Suz said, and what Ingunn said too. Last summer I needed a shoe to wear to Vegas that could handle the heat and the walking around, and smart ladies here suggested Ecco Bouillon sandals. I got a pair and they worked great. But they are open-toed.

What Suz said! I like the Tevas . If open toe is an option at all, I highly recommend the Ecco Boullion line. It is very comfy for long walks and rather stylish.

To me, they're gear.

But sometimes gear is required.

Know what I mean?

For my travels, I picked up these Ecco Jump Mary Janes. They still looked like gear to me. But they worked for walking and hiking and were just slightly less gearish...I think that's what your Tevas are....a similar type of thing. I don't wear mine as regular shoes, but I do wear them when I want to do a lot of walking yet don't want to look completely ...well....you know. Originally I had hoped to get a pair of shoes that would actually be fashionable (or fit with my overall style, at least) but this was the best I could do. Some people might have worn Cons, but I find them uncomfortable and find lace up shoes too hot in summer anyway.

I don't think the first pic is too gearish.

FWIW I had these ones, the Teva Omnium for women, and they were super comfy. I liked the color myself. I think the black look good too! My DS always gets the kids version each summer too!

I have had some Teva's and always found them to be quite comfy. I think they make a lot of great looks, they tend to look gearish, but I think it's not entirely avoidable. They look good for their level of comfort, IMO, and sometimes a bit of style has to be forsaken when you do a lot of walking.

I am looking at a couple of models of Keen and Teva sandals/shoes for any possible summer travel with a lot of walking. I prefer closed-toe styles so was glad to see these. Are they too gearish to be stylish, in your opinion?
