I actually like the elasticized waist :). I have several skirts and pants with that feature. I just happened to order faux leather leggings, but I liked them because they had a waistband look and some seams in the back, so more like pants then leggings. I guess the sweatpants vibe and leather doesn't go together to well for me. I do think you wear them really well though, as someone who doesn't particularly like the style, I can still see that they work on you.
