Shiny - you might try to put some rubbing alcohol on back side of the area that is tight then wear the sandals for as long as possible - it should help stretch just that little bit. They sell stretching spray but my cobbler told me this trick and it helped a pair I had trouble with.

That's good to know, Angie. I swear when I saw them in Macy's they looked almost as dark as the pewter Brulees (though sparklier) and my gray Vince Camuto Freddy's. I figured I didn't need a 3rd pair of shoes the same color. If they are brighter/more silvery they would definitely work. The other thing is that Macy's only had a 8.5 for me to try and I really need 7.5 which I haven't been able to find anywhere.

Actually, I thought it was interesting that you passed them up, Patience! To me, they look as though they would be a slam dunk for your style. So versatile AND comfy. And cheap as chips if you do your homework.

I have these. They are not dark - should be enough contrast against your skin tone. If I remember correctly, that’s what you were after.

Shiny, you are so fab. In fact, you are making me reconsider the sandals. They look much lighter on you than they did at Macy's. Are they really a dark pewter or are they more silvery?

Angie, it's not my pinky toe (that's fine) - it's mostly my big toe and second toe. (Big toe on one foot - the one with the bunion; second toe on the other foot). I do have a shoe stretcher and if the moleskin and more wear doesn't solve this that will be my next step. I keep thinking about my grey aerosole pumps that killed my feet the first time I wore them, but are now one of my more comfortable pair of heels - surprise! - so it may be that I just need to wear them in a bit. (And moleskin will help).

Did you find that the fit and comfort improved with wear?

Waving to Shiny! We are shoe twins! They look GREAT and I’m wearing mine right now too. Have been in them all day – a 4 hour walking day, though.

Have you tried stretching the portion around the pinky toe with a home shoe stretching kit?

I'm glad you decided to keep them, Shiny! They look like a great summer wedge. I hope you can get the strap situation sorted out. Oh, and I like your idea about the children's jean jacket :)

Niva -- thanks for the tip about SummerSoles. I had no idea a product like that existed!

They look fantastic on you Shiny! I tried them on last weekend but they didn't quite work on me. Something about the way the shoe was shaped - it's like the wedge tips forward somehow. I wear lots of wedges (almost primarily) in summer so it's not even like I need to get used to wearing them. But I did think the straps were some of the softest I have ever felt on a strappy shoe and overall it is just such a pretty shoe!

Here you go Inge!

http://s386.photobucket.com/al.....e14001.jpg

worn with: ATL Ponte Knit sheath dress and a size 14 children's jean jacket from Old Navy, only $15. I ordered that and the petite xs and the child's size actually fit me better. The length is perfect for dresses. It fits perfectly in the shoulders, waist, arm length, and the scale of the details is just right. However, it is just a TAD too tight across the chest (it closes, but looks tight), so I am planning to wet it and wear it all buttoned up until it dries. I think that will stretch it out just enough! (Yes I'm getting creative, LOL).

Yes I need a pedicure...

Those liners look great. I wonder if they would stick onto suede.
Shiny I was going to recommend using anti perspirant on the bottoms of your feet. This was in the directions for use on the box of Certain Dri antiperspirant. I've tried it and it works great.
The new sandals look really great on you.

shiny, They are as thin as 2-3 sheets of paper stacked. They really don't add any bulk. They do add a bit of warmth to a close toed shoe, but with open or peep toe shoes that isn't a worry at all. I used the liners in the Me Toos in Savannah and it worked like a charm.

Thanks Niva! How thin are they? I had thought of adding a liner but the ones I see in the store add thickness and these shoes have no room for it. If they are paper-thin they might work!

Hmmm.... I like the leopard print ones. This could also work well inside the Me-Too flats, which I find cause my feet to sweat too.

shiny, my feet get very sweaty and slippery in any non-suede soled shoe. I have been using a product called Summersoles the past few years and I love it. These are fabric blend, peel and stick shoe liners. Since they are not all fabric but a fabric blend, they can't be washed but you can reuse a pair several times over before discarding them. They come in one size but you can just trim to fit just about any kind of shoe. They come in two options suede and ultra-absorbent. I use the ultra absorbent for my ultra sweaty feet and it works great. Take a peek: http://www.summersoles.com/swe.....re-for-all

If you do decide to get them, use the code "shefinds" to get 20% off your order. Usually that takes care of the shipping for me. At first I thought they were tad bit expensive for disposable liners, but after the first pair I haven't looked back. Especially if you don't sweat as much as I do, you can get way more use out of a pair than I do. I hope this helps!

I've decided to keep the KC Cedar City shoes. I wore them around the house a few days, and the straps loosened up just enough. Then I wore them out and about all day long yesterday. My day included a farewell luncheon with my coworkers (I'm starting a new position, same company, in July) which involved some walking but not a lot, and then out to the theater with DH which involved walking on cobblestone streets.

The positives:

1. Versatile! The pewter metallic will go with anything and everything in my closet.

2. Adorable! They are just soooo cute!

3. Flattering! Angie is right about the pewter being akin to a nude for the leg-lengthening effect. Also, the 3-inch wedge does amazing things to the leg. I couldn't help but admire my legs all day long. :-)

4. I felt so TALL in these!

Negatives:

1. My bottom of my feet sweat in them. There's something about the material. This was a bit of a disappointment.

2. The last strap rubbed and cut into the cuticles of my toes. I think this is partly because they are just a tad too tight still and more narrow feet/less bulky toes may not have this issue. I also suspect that applying some moleskin to this last strap will solve this issue. I'm dubious about using the shoe stretcher on them, because the straps are perfect everywhere else - it's just this last strap.

3. Height took some getting used to. I can walk in 3 inch pumps, but a wedge that high took some practice. But by end of day, I had it down - and found them quite stable even on cobblestones!

I suspect if I can solve the strap problem with moleskin, these could be 4-hour shoes for me. I don't think there is a solution for the sweating issue, but these are just so cute, I'm going to learn to live with it.
