Thanks so much MariannaCecile, Kimlee, Inge, Medusa, and Angie! I am really excited to get the interview process rolling regardless of whether one of these jobs turns out to be the right fit. I know the market is much more competitive than last time I was applying for jobs, so I'm simply thrilled to have some interviews set up. I'll try to keep the YLF board posted, but I probably won't give too much detail until I know one way or the other how it turns out because I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

MariannaCecile, I'm searching for administrative positions, and particularly I'm hoping for a role that involves some aspect of human resources since I've really enjoyed that in the past.

I'll post another thread about what I'm planning to wear since I'd like to make sure it's okay!

My goodness, Kari! Congratulations! You are exceeding your goals and it’s only day #2! I’m much impressed :0)

By all means prep for those interviews and set a weekly task schedule. What are you interviewing for and what are you going to wear?

Good thing keeping carbs in your diet for the interviewing days and my hat off to you with the exercise regime. And sounds like your social life is buzzing too. Wow!

Your goals for both Wednesday and Thursday this week are to ace the interviews – get some experience and learn from them. Good luck! I’ll be checking in on the interviews later this week.

Two interviews, that's fantastic Kari! Good luck tomorrow, please keep us posted?
(good thinking about the diet: if I had to go to an interview without being able to have some chocolate beforehand, I would panic;-))

Thanks for reporting back to us about your goals, you're definitely on the right track!

I think making goals for each week is a great idea, and a little less intimidating than forecasting for weeks in advance. I like your plan!

CONGRATS on having interviews lined up! This is amazing! I wish you the best of luck. What line of work are you in?

Ooh, this *is* a big task! If you don't mind, I think for right now I am going to just set goals for THIS week (except for some long term goals or commitments that are already on the calendar.) The reason I'm changing plans a little is good - I have two interviews (different positions) set up on Wednesday and Thursday, and today I have some existing errands and appointments set up, so gearing up for interviews will be my #1 task and priority for the week.

Goals for each interview are:
* Prepare a packet with all materials (application, resume, references) complete
* Review job descriptions and note points to highlight or ask questions about during the interview process
* Ensure that I present a polished exterior - I'm getting my hair cut today, gave myself a fresh but not too intense color yesterday, and will make sure that the outfit I'm planning to wear is clean and wrinkle-free. I may post a pic tonight if I have time.
* Review transportation directions to make sure I know where I'm going & arrive a little early
* Get enough rest and food the night before so that I feel GREAT!
With these points covered, I'll be prepared to give the best I can for everything I have control over during the interview.

Okay, so reporting back on the goals I have already started:

South Beach Diet: the first two weeks of this "diet" are essentially a sugar craving detox, which is *great*, but from past experience I know that I can feel a little disoriented and woozy during that phase. Given that I want to be in peak shape for interviews this week, I decided it might be smarter to wait until Friday to FULLY start Phase 1 of the program. For now I am easing myself in by eating more veggies, nuts, dairy, and proteins, making sure that any grains I consume are whole grains, and cutting back on fruit too so that I don't crave it as much once I start the regimen for real.

Exercise: Last week I completed 6 days of exercise for at least 30 minutes. Yesterday I woke up early for a Couch to 5k training day with my dad. Today (depending on my dad's schedule) we'll either do another C25K session, or else I'll hit an evening yoga class at the gym. (I am tracking my exercise here just so I have a record to hold me accountable!)

Friends & fun time, since you mentioned that I need to save time for this too: I made it out of the house for a few hours yesterday to visit with a good friend & her new puppy, which was incredibly uplifting. Today my boyfriend & I are heading out to take pictures - again, something uplifting, fun, and confidence-boosting.

Kari, you set excellent long term and short term goals: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....replies=12

Well done!

Now you can break up the process of achieving these goals by creating a series of DAILY tasks over a period of 12 weeks (or until you go on holiday). That’s quite an exercise and could take the entire day because the schedule has to be very structured and detailed. It’s the only way you’ll get a sense of accomplishment when you start to tick things off as DONE each day.

Remember to slot time in for:

o	Friends so that you can wear your heels!

o	Getting out the house to network

o	Volunteering – this will also get you out of the house AND help you network

Once you’ve broken down your goals into a weekly and daily schedule, we’ll ask about your specific progress each day. On some days you’ll attain your goals and on other days you’ll fall behind or feel lost. That’s okay! Tell us about it and we’ll try to suggest ways in which we can overcome the obstacles.

Things that you should already have in place are exercising and starting the South Beach Diet. That officially started yesterday. So you can report back on that right now!

Good luck with the scheduling and we'll ask you about that tomorrow :0)
