Now my hair is droopy, my makeup is smudged, and my dress has a ketchup stain on it...but oh well, you get the idea. I also had opera gloves and a red fan in lieu of a parasol but I forgot to include them in the picture and now I'm just too tired...</p> <p>I'm SO GLAD I wore oxfords. I was on my feet almost the entire day and pedaled this ridiculous 5-person bike thing around the island as well. All the ladies I was with were limping by the day's end in their heels and I did not envy them.</p> <p>Bill Cunningham was there taking pictures of the dancers. Alas, despite my crazy friend's efforts to get photographed by him, he didn't seem too impressed with us. Oh well, it was a special privilege to be in the same space as him. Didn't see any signs of Mr. Sartorialist. Perhaps he is going tomorrow, or in August.</p> <p>My friend and her boyfriend did all the picture taking so I will have better pictures of the 3 of us and the other people on the lawn. Most outfits involved fringed dresses which were wonderful to watch as the women danced, and lots of pretty headpieces. We plan to go again in August and I plan to do better next time. Definitely going to try and avoid white or light colors though, to prevent future ketchup incidents (I also got makeup on it, which I made worse by trying to remove it with makeup remover, so basically I was a mess although you can't see it in these pictures). Also, I will probably stick to wearing my hair down. It's just more reliable. Updos always fail on me within a few hours. Some lessons learned, I guess.</p> <p>Anyway overall it was a lot of fun and I'm excited to go back in a couple of months. Can I just say how nice it was to see SO MANY PEOPLE all dressed up at once? It was so refreshing. The men looked great....probably much better than they usually do :p How I wish people dressed like that all the time... </p>
