Your jacket deserves a standing ovation...it is lovely in all of these. I have two leather jackets. One is heavier and looser for layering and outdoor and the other is slimmer, thinner but has this stretch material under the arms that lets me layer over thinner shirts. I really love and use both and with jeans, dresses, skirts, dressy pants, skinnies, etc etc. Mine are black but I would love to have one in every color (but then I do have a jacket obsession)

I've been wondering how to wear my leather jacket from NAS, and this is so inspirational! I love it all the ways you've styled it. I doubt our winters will ever be could enough to pair with a puffer jacket though. I feel hot just seeing you in it!

My dear honey wondered what in heck I was doing with a winter coat on today! Thanks for your great feedback and very kind comments.
Suz - sad that it seems Danier doesn't have the right cut for you - but at least you are honing in what will work for you, and not accepting something that you have misgivings about.

You picked a winner. I see no problem with expecting a leather jacket to be worn mainly outside. Underneath the puffer would be great for the most frigid days.

It looks wonderful on you every which way and upside down! Truly - this is THE one for you!

I think some of my problems have to do with fit. If I were to buy my Danier jacket large enough to layer over a heavy sweater, it would be frankly too big on me - too long sleeves, just too big overall. This is the issue for me. Sizing up doesn't work. It has to do with the cuts. The proportions basically only work on me in the very smallest size.

Sigh....

You, however, are going to wear this jacket into the ground, and it is gorgeous!

VERY nice, especially with your jeans and trousers. That's my absolute favorite leather jacket look, especially in the fall and spring. The leather jacket with the dress is perfectly OK, but, to my eye, not quite as good as the first picture. But that's probably just my bias showing because I like the first look so much.

And, I'm with you in thinking that you'll be wearing this jacket mostly as outerwear. Realistically, even though I sometimes try to rationalize a number of scenarios for wearing an item, in actual fact I usually end up wearing it in a favorite way over and over. And that's just fine; I even think Angie did a post on this a while back where she mentioned that not everything has to be versatile to be a workhorse. If it looks fabulous worn in a certain way, and that makes you want to grab it all the time, that is good enough to make it a smart buy.

The tags are off? I *thought* I heard a gigantic rrrrrrrripping sound. YAY! Yes, it totally works in all of these scenarios. Bonus is that it doesn't show in the neckline of the puffer, so no one knows you have it on underneath. What a great color, and I love the way it looks with black. And you. And with stripes! Just yummy.

This post is inspired by Suz's leather musings and questions about how versatile a leather jacket might be..or not.
My jacket (yes it is clearly mine since the tags are off is an outdoor jacket. It is lambskin with a cotton lining. I have a black leather jacket with a very thin quilted lining that I get a lot of wear through the fall and spring - and even the winter - it's a great car coat. I'm hoping my new jacket will be just as useful in this regard.
Pic 1 - is how I plan to wear the jacket most of the time - with jeans and an assortment of trousers and skinnies.
Pic 2 - Suz thought it might be too long for a dress...but I think it works. What are your thoughts? I don't own very many dresses (3) but it's nice to have the versatility.
Pic 3 - Can I layer a sweater under the jacket? Absolutely. The dress is fairly thick material, and so is the sweater, (BR Cardigan) Plus the scarf. I'm almost melting - but it's doable.
Pic 4 - Can the jacket be worn under a winter coat? Here I have put my puffer jacket over. Works fine - but now I really am melting.

Overall thoughts - I think I'll wear this far more outdoors than I will as an indoor jacket - but I can see keeping it on unzipped inside. What are your thoughts ladies?
