Platinum band and engagement ring, diamond center stone and sapphires. Want badly to reset it! Would get rid of sapphires and go all diamond, in white gold. I like the cool warmth. Have a princess cut but no, would not buy it today. Would go with round because it sparkles more.

14K Yellow gold. Engagement ring is pear shaped solitaire with band of diamonds, wedding ring is a cluster with 42 diamonds. I get loads of compliments on them because they look antique and no one has a set like it.

1. Is it/are they yellow gold, white gold or silver?
Both our wedding rings are platinum.

2. Does it/they include diamonds, or another stone, or metal alone? Mine have diamonds on both the band and ring itself. DHs is engraved with a greek/romanesque design.

3. Did you choose it yourself, or did your mate present you with it? My DH chose the ring design himself and I had no input whatsoever. It was a beautiful surprise and wouldn't change a thing.

4. Would you choose the same thing again? Yes.

Nope, it's a plain band.

We chose it together, and they're identical.

In a heartbeat - both the man and the ring.

We have the exact same wedding bands. They are yellow gold 3-band rolling rings and we chose it together. My engagement ring is a marquise diamond flanked by two smaller ones that he picked out.

Not my ring, mine is all yellow but you get the idea.

My wedding ring is slim plain yellow gold, we bought it together, and I would choose it again.

I only wanted to wear one ring, so we had my engagement ring which is yellow gold with diamonds, altered so that the slim wedding band could fit into it creating a double band effect and look like I a single ring.

I have since moved to wearing silver but that is not an issue for me with my rings. I have considered a new ring to alternate with my current one. We have been married 18 years and I was thinking another ring could be a lovely 20th aniversary gift:) If I were to do this, I would want something non-weddingish and quite different.

I wear both an engagement ring and a wedding ring - they are not from a matching set but they go together very nicely! They are both white gold. My engagement ring is a princess cut solitaire diamond and my wedding ring has a row of small inset diamonds on the front.

We were not actually "together" when my husband purchased the ring (on a break!) and we were not even living in the same province. In any case, he proposed when I went out to visit him at Christmas. He designed the engagement ring himself, even choosing a Canadian diamond, and had it made by a jeweler. My wedding band was chosen by both of us.

I have absolutely no regrets when it comes to my rings. They suit me, the size of my hand and my style perfectly.

Such a fun question. Our original wedding bands were made for us with mixed silver and gold. They actually wore out. (We've been married over 40 years). I now have a gold diamond solitiare that I wear with a plain gold band on each side of it. I love the look and wouldn't want anything else.

Fun and exciting thread for me, as I have an upgrade that's been ordered and is due to arrive October 18th!

We had talked about marriage and went looking at rings when we were dating. At the time, neither of us had any money, and the price of rings just horrified me. I chose a small diamond flanked by rubies set in yellow gold with a plain gold wedding band. DH chose a yellow gold ring with a little swish of white gold and three tiny diamonds set diagonally in it. It is hard to say whether I would choose it again, as it was mostly chosen for price at the time, and neither of us knew the first thing about jewelry or diamonds. I don't regret it, though, as I was interested in the man and not the ring!

So 15 years later we are ordering a new ring. It will be a simple cathedral setting in yellow gold with a diamond solitaire. I will wear it with my plain gold wedding band and the channel-set diamond anniversary band I received on our 10th anniversary. In the future, we will purchase shared prong set diamond bands to wear on either side of the solitaire.

Platinum band and platinum and diamond engagement ring. I wear them both every single day, and only take them off for "icky" chores, and when I take them off - we have a tradition where my husband gets down on his knee and proposes to me all over again, usually with a wagging, wiggly black lab in the middle of it all

Same goes if my husband takes his platinum wedding band off for some reason - we don't just put them back on again, but wait until we see each other again, and I will get down on one knee and "propose" to my husband if for some reason he had to take his wedding ring off. So the gist is that we don't put our own rings back on ourselves, rather - the other person 'proposes' all over again. Kind of silly, but it sure brings a lot of joy and fun into things, especially with a giant black lab doggie that somehow insists on being in the middle of it all and being part of the "proposal". It's very cute - one of us is on their knees with a giant black lab right there, both looking up at the ring-less person with googly eyes.

The engagement ring has a centre stone that is round/brilliant cut, and it is flanked by two pear shaped diamonds on either side - with the skinny/pointy ends of the pear-cut diamonds at the outer edge. It looks a little bit like a flower in a way. My husband designed the ring himself and went and bought diamonds from a diamond dealer and hired a goldsmith to custom-make the ring. I bought the wedding bands - just simple "half-round" wedding bands, I think they were called "comfort fit" or "comfort band" or something along those lines. No hard edges and feel very comfortable on.

I'd feel naked without my wedding band and engagement ring. The band I have doesn't match the engagement ring perfectly, but I can't imagine a different band. I want the one that was put on my finger on my wedding day.

This isn't to say that I wouldn't love to have another ring of some kind - but I'd never take off my original wedding band or engagement ring, unless for some 'icky' chore (as mentioned). I've also never put my own rings back onto my own finger. Neither has my husband. Just this thing we do with each other. As in just checking to see if we'd still marry each other all over again.

Of course, the dog has to be part of it all too. Thinks it's some really big deal and sits right next to the person who is having to do the proposing/replacing ring thing, while leaning the entire weight of his body on said 'proposer'.

Yeah, I know - we're pretty silly - but it makes us happy

This is such an interesting thread, although I'm years away from being married myself. My parents don't have a wedding ring tradition, but my dad bought a simple gold band some years back because he kept getting questions at work about why he was married but not wearing a ring.

My husband and I have matching plain yellow gold bands that we chose together, with an engraving on the inside of the band. I didn't have an engagement ring but I used to wear, with the wedding ring, a jade ring that my husband gave me while we were dating. The two rings looked unusual and perfect together. The jade ring is now in a box waiting for the loose stone to be reset. (Reminder: get this done ASAP!)

Mine's yellow gold with etching. I'm not a diamond person (I know!). We picked it together. I love it & would choose it again. I have a funny story about it. When we moved about 15 years ago I lost the ring - I had no idea where. I felt too bad about it took look for a replacement. A year later I was replanting some lilac bushes that we had brought with us - I'd planted them in the wrong spot & they weren't doing well. Guess what I found in amongst the roots of one of the bushes? Yes the ring.

I have loved seeing this thread, such fun.

DH popped the question on Christmas Day 2002 with a simple solitaire set in 18ct yellow gold band and held in place with eight rhodium plated prongs.

The wedding band was hand made in Covent Garden and is a mixture of yellow, rose and white 18ct gold.

We added the modest eternity band a year after our wedding.

I would not change my rings for the world but they do need a blinkin' good clean. Actually I feel when my clothing choice is consistent with the my wedding bands that I look my best.

Never been married--- I was engaged for a year. The engagement ring was a modest white gold solitaire. I'm left handed and have issues comfortably wearing a lot of rings on my left hand because of the peculiar way I write--- so right away the ring was uncomfortable and the stock sizing and high setting only made it more so. It was also disappointing because he'd asked for my input and I'd explained that I'd wouldn't be able to wear something to work where any stones stuck up high off my finger and could scratch and snag things or puncture gloves.

In the future I'm not sure I'll ever be engaged again or married. If I am, the ring/s aren't terribly important to me, and I honestly don't know how much wear they would see depending on comfort level and the style/setting because of work and spending much of my other time either at home or in outdoors pursuits. I do like the look of various styles of rings, especially worn as an everyday piece with a watch and/or studs, but don't know that I could ever personally justify the price especially since there is a good chance I wouldn't wear anything on many occasions for comfort or practical reasons.

I've often thought I'd rather have to money to put towards a home or car or trip or even camera equipment. I do have family diamonds that could be reset affordably, either choosing just one and having it set in a "glove safe" setting, or setting them back together again (two different rings that a family member had reset in a pendant I don't and won't ever wear) with the realization that it would have to be an occasional piece of jewelry.

Of course, if a SO bought me a ring I'd accept it graciously, but would hope that it was something I could comfortably wear to work or that they were accepting of me only wearing it sometimes.

2) It's a curved wishbone, channel set with 9 teeny Diamonds
3) I chose it BF knows what a fussy mare I am!!
4) Yes I'd choose it again, I very often get bored with things quite quick but I still love my ring even 10 years on x

Mine is two-tone white and yellow gold
Four small diamonds
Chose it together, and therein lies a tale:

Hubby and i had been dating for several years, and talking about marriage on and off. One day I was volunteering at the local food pantry and picked up a nail in my tire in parking lot of the food pantry, which until recently had been a Home Depot store. We went to Costco to get a new tire, and while we were waiting for it to be installed, we did a lap around the warehouse, including the jewelry case.

Lo and behold, there was a lovely set of his-and-hers wedding bands, exactly fitting the description of what we said we would like if/when we ever got married! Our rule for shopping at Costco is "buy it when you see it, because it may never be there again," so we bought the matching rings "just in case." Then a few days later we found ourselves at a local jewelry store having an engagement ring made to match the wedding band, again "just in case." And a few weeks after that, he popped the question! Big fun!!

And yes, I would choose it again! I love my rings! I usually only wear both of them when I am out and about, but I wear my wedding band all the time except when I am sleeping or bathing. (I used to wear it 24/7 but a few years ago I got a nasty case of exzema on that finger so now I take my ring off and let my finger "breathe" at night! Seems to keep the rashies and itchies away!)

Yes I would choose it again!

This is a 2nd marriage for both of us and I didn't want a separate engagement ring. I love my ring; the diamonds in it are so sparkly! It is actually called a 'right hand ring' and it's from Hearts on Fire. Here's the one I have:

You are funny, Angie!

This is a fun thread. No wedding, no wedding ring here... lol, but I like hearing about everyone's rings and why.

...I can't get married because the ring I like is this one I saw in a downmarket mall... this giant heart shaped diamond on a thin little band of gold. I don't know how to explain it, it was just the tackiest thing ever and I loved it. I mean, it was probably zircon when I think about it. You know, totally out of the question.

My original wedding band set is yellow gold; the engagement ring has a diamond. My DH and I picked it out together.

Years later, I found a white gold guard ring to wear with the original yellow gold rings to create a two-tone set. The guart ring has a unique floral-like design (it's hard to describe) that wraps around the diamond.

I wouldn't change a thing, and I'm happily married to the same sweet man. We will celebrate our 25th anniversary in December.

Mine is white gold with a rose gold braid in the band. I didn't want anything with stones so that I didn't have to take it off in the garden or when working in the lab. I chose it, and he wears the matching band. I would pick this again, yes, for sure.

I don't wear mine. It's a cheap gold band - my husband and I had them made in India. It is hanging on a carabiner on my climbing harness, which is actually a safe place for it. I took it on and off so often for climbing that I figured it was easier just to leave it there!
