I finally bought a fluid button-down top and love wearing it! I bought another at the NAS.

I also finally found a pair of pointy-toe flats that worked for me. I've had those less than a week and have already worn them three times. I would have worn them more, but I haven't worn flats in years and need to give my feet time to get used to them. FWIW, these flats didn't give me blisters, so maybe you'd like to give them a try? As for the pointy-toed heels, maybe you could get some with an ankle strap so they don't fall off.

I did get a pair of gladiator sandals too, though with a heel. I wore those a LOT when I first got them, but I haven't worn them recently. Not sure why.

I got three pairs of ankle pants and enjoyed all of them. Two of the pairs have zippers at the ankle, which seems to be very on-trend right now. One pair was a full-length white jean, which I know is also very popular.

I'm very happy with my on-trend purchases so far. I just hope these trends continue into next summer, because I spent quite a bit of money on the jeans.

My Danier moto jackets (cream and blush), black Clarks oxfords, d'orsay flats, and my track pants for casual wear. I think this was my first spring where my Converse didn't see a lot of wear in favor of other types of shoes.

Black "track" pants (though mine do not have elastic at the ankles and are more like drapey, tapered black pants) and my black patent Birks. The Birks are so comfy that I have completely failed to wear my other shoes.

My navy/white chevron print palazzo pants WITH pockets are my favorite and most used clothing item. Since they are navy, I have many options for tops - other neutrals or bright colors like yellow or coral look great with them as well.

My other would be my military style soft distressed denim button-up blouse.

As far as shoes go, I love my taupe colored pumps, but my feet like my brown leather flip flops best

For spring/summer, these have been the items I'd grab if the house were to catch on fire, as I find I'm reaching for them again and again and again:

1) My sister thinks these shoes are ugly but I don't care. They are extremely comfortable and I can walk in them all day long. I can loosen the laces to accommodate foot swelling, which makes them ideal for air travel. I just duplicated in cognac.

2) VC tube skirt, is just so comfy and easy to wear, whether for business travel or for casual weekend. Plus I'm finding the midi length a refreshing alternative.

3) Kate Spade bag in optic white - small enough I can stuff it in my laptop bag. Great for business trips. Polished & structured and just the right scale for someone only 5'0 tall.

4) Coach bag in blush. I LOVE this bag so much. Everything about it is perfection. I just duplicated in cognac for the fall -- for my upcoming birthday present to myself.

#3 and #4 are pretty much the only bags I'm rotating between -- for past several months.

5) This scarf, from BR, has been a total WIN. It is spring weight, so not too heavy, and takes up little room in my bag, so I can have it handy in summer for overly AC'd spaces. I wear it everywhere, it seemingly goes with everything.

6) Couldn't forget the Burberry! I have actually been looking forward to rainy days this summer. :-)

7) White Joe's jeans, sized up for a skinny boyfriend fit, rolled or unrolled.

8) Maybe boring to others but these RL jersey dresses, which I have in multiple colors, are my most-worn. They pack great for travel. And can be worn when not traveling. Simple to accessorize, to dress up or down, comfy, nice neckline, strategically placed ruching at the waistline, self-lined, quality fabric that provides just enough structure to smooth over bumps etc.

Left out 3 spring-weight sweaters, which aren't getting worn right now since it's summer.

To Susie -- I need more interesting sleeveless tops. This has been a hole in my closet this summer. I could use a summer wardrobe refresh in general. I went sparingly with the summer clothes this year (particularly casual clothes), because summer goes by so darn quickly here.

I am loving my white boyfriend jeans (Kut from the Kloth Catherine). And I wear my open-toed platform booties (Paul Green, Tacey) a lot! Linen trousers (NYDJ) are also a favorite item. I think I've done pretty well at wearing what I bought. I haven't worn my beige cotton jacket (Caslon) as much as I thought I would, but it is nice to have when I do need it, and it didn't cost too much.

Adding several nicer tops in cotton or linen blends has been a great upgrade to my casual wardrobe. They are better fabrics and more interesting shapes than the plain tees I had before.

White KUT jeans have been a great addition too. And my best shorts and crops have come from repurposing jeans - both blue and white ones- by cutting them off.

For me:

1) Pointy toe flats. Love them. I've always loved pointy toe flats and it has been great to find them in fun colors and prints.

2) Gladiator sandals. I wear the more casual pair more than the dressy pair but I wear both a fair amount.

3) Peep-toe booties. Love them, so trendy and fun.

4) Flared skirts in navy and black. They are workhorses in my work wardrobe and a nice change from pencil skirts. Mine are fitted at the top and then flare out so much easier to wear than skater skirts.

I think I need to challenge myself harder to wear my moto jackets. They haven't been getting as much love as they should.

What from the spring/summer wants lists, actual purchases, "on trend" items, have you been happy with, wear a lot, etc.????

For me the navy blazer, Birk look alikes (actually Muk LUks ) floral print bomber, and white denim jacket have been workhorses. Did not wear the white loafers much (maybe because I also bought navy loafers that I liked better,), fluid tops and t's still going strong, and 2 prs of white denim from a year or two ago still going strong.

As for other footwear, two new gladiator type sandals , plus the two pair from last year and year before, get worn a lot and make me happy. Trendy pointy toe flats gave me blister the 4th wearing when I had to park a 10 minute walk to my destination .Pointy toe navy pumps started fallng off my feet at about the 4th wearing-at hotel where one has to walk miles from room to elevator Then another mile to banquet room, then stand around a lot -guess they just got too stretched-(real leather seems to stretch out more and sooner than the faux stuff)

So anyhow, I am glad I did not spend a bundle on real Birks as they will never replace my flip flops even though they are OK comfort wise. NOt giving up on pointy toe exactly as will wait and see about other kinds of shoes.
