I think it's a <i>great</i> addition to your wardrobe. <br /><br />I do think it looks a lot better with the white tee/layering top than it does with black. In fact, this particular jacket might be a spring, late-spring, early summer and very early fall piece only. I can see it with pale jeans (white or light wash), dark jeans, and I can also see it with lighter coloured summer dresses and skirts. That said, I don't see it playing all that well with black or darker colours - so imo, this is a warm-season piece. <br /><br />I'm not sure about your dominant climate - and I would consider this first before deciding on the jacket.
