I agree that Juniors are shorter than Misses but taller than Petites. The sleeves and armholes are cut for a slimmer arm and the bust is cut for a smaller cup size than Misses. Pant legs are cut slimmer as well. I can't comment on the waist size because Junior skirts are ridiculously short so I've never tried one on.

That being said, the camisoles in Nordies' Junior Department are great! They are nice and long and don't ride up and are cheap as chips ($12). I wear an M there, whereas I would buy XS in Misses and S/sometimes XS in Petites.
I agree with what's been said 100%. I find I often fit junior's jeans while misses have given me the empty saddlebags and too-high rise in the past (much less of a problem with low-rise women's jeans nowadays, though).

Yep. It's a handy way to tell quickly what the overall cut will be like, in secondhand stores especially.

Yes, odd numbers are juniors sizes while even sizes are misses sizes. Commonly juniors sizes are not just cut for a straighter body type; they are cut smaller and slightly shorter overall. And, of course, when there is a department with juniors and a department with misses, the styles are usually quite different, with juniors items being more trendy, hemlines being higher, etc. And while this is not universally true, many juniors items are not as well made. Of course, that is an ongoing problem with ALL clothing, but juniors departments often feature raw edges, uncovered seams in jackets, no linings on items that usually have them, etc.

Interesting. I never knew that about odd sizes being junior's.
Kinda. Odd sizes are junior sizing. Whether they fit a straighter body or not depends on the company that is making the garment. Some yes, some no. I shop across departments. Juniors is my favorite department to find cheap, fun cotton skirts, throw away layering tops and tanks. The sizing is often smaller than non-juniors. I just bought a skirt online that was a medium and too pinchy for me at the waist. Normally I'm wearing a small easily in non-juniors. Some juniors items are cut for a super rectangle like me and some are not at all.

I was just reading at puttingmetogether.com that Odd numbered sizes are for juniors with junior type bodies (aka no curves), not womanly figures.

Is this true? Sometimes I feel kinda squeezed in junior sizes, but then in regular sizes I have this empty saddlebag problem...
