The dresses look completely appropriate to me; you've styled them very tastefully. I especially like the sleeveless black dress on you.

I think juniors gets a bad rep for three reasons - cut, color/pattern, and material. A lot of junior items are cheap for a reason. They are cut very rectangular with few seams, come in tarty colors and patterns, and are made of the cheapest possible polyester.

I think juniors is completely acceptable if the cut allows for curves and is tailored, the color and pattern have some sophistication, and the material is quality. For example, I purchased a couple cotton sundresses from Macy's and you'd never guess they were juniors. They look just like the patterns and colors you find in the "adult" section, but for 2/3 less.

All in all, I think juniors is like any department - you have to shop with a critical eye.

I have no problem with the Junior section except for the poor quality sometimes. My fav. dress is the polka dot one. It looks really lovely. I'm not as fond of the floral one, I think because of the sleeves. You rocked the Junior section!

I think they look great on you, they actually fit you quite well. I didn't really know Xhiliration was a junior line either, I think I have a few things too. It shouldn't matter as long as the item itself is tasteful.

I think all 3 dresses look terrific on you! None are too short or skimpy....if they fit as well as those do, I'd go for it! BTW, I am HOOKED on your blog! I just love it....so glad I found this place....

I actually fit better into junior dresses but definitely wouldn't buy any you have posted for myself, but I'm older than you are. A big problem with junior clothing for me is the usually horrible quality. They just aren't worth it. Even Target junior fashions seem to be made with inferior materials compared to the regular women's section. As I get older I really think quality is very important for your look. Then you can throw in the occasional discount piece and it's not as likely to be noticed.
The polkadot dress is cute on you for the right occasion. It and the cardi don't scream Juniors. Enjoy the juniors while you are a young 40!

I think if it fits and flatters it doesn't matter what the label says. The problem with juniors clothes is that since they are cut for teenage bodies, they are often hard to fit on a more curvy body.... the other issue is that they are often more cheaply made. but if you find something that works I say go for it.

Personally, I like your 3 juniors dresses better on you than the 3 from yesterday... they are more youthful looking... but they aren't at all too young.

I think that you can get Jr.'s stuff, you just have to be careful. That polka dot dress is great and doesn't look young. It could actually be shortened a hair, but looks professional with something over it. The other black dress is ok, but I don't care for the patterned one.

OK, I may be opening a can of worms here, but I'm just curious.....Is it OK for a woman in her 40's to buy junior brands....
