However, in the 2000's, I wore black, grey, charcoal, navy, white and beige, the serious colours required for my profession. To be honest, the firm I worked for encouraged the female partners to dress that way, if you veered off course, you were spoken to by HR. I really wanted to look the part, so I tried to fit their mould. I straightened my hair every day and wore very tailored suits with black accessories. </p> <p>For me, wearing exclusively those colours is not fun and felt like a part of my energetic personality was stifled. I purchased the odd colourful piece (I have a red velvet blazer from circa 2006 that did spark joy - but that was the exception and was worn exclusively with dark neutrals). Worn with challenge boots.<br /> Thursday - challenge cardigan. Worn with a brooch on my beanie as suggested by Carla.<br /> Wednesday - challenge pleated skirt with pink sweater and pink boots.<br /> Tuesday - challenge skirt worn with beige knit. I really liked the simplicity of this outfit, a sort of palette cleanser when compared to my more colourful style.<br /> Monday - challenge cape worn red side with jeans and long leather boots.<br /> Sunday - my day off, no challenge items worn, I really enjoyed the freedom of not having to wear the challenge items.</p> <p>My progress thus far:<br /> Cape 2x<br /> Pleated skirt 2x<br /> Tartan shirt 2x<br /> Cardigan 2x<br /> Red boot 2x<br /> Pink velvet pants 2x<br /> Cream skirt 1x<br /> Pink velvet blazer 1x<br /> Scarf 1x<br /> Red dress 1x </p>
