Maybe it's just me, but it almost seems like the number of smart devices
out there is getting way out of hand. I can probably handle going to the
bathroom without the toilet seat warming up, and I can easily pull out my
phone to check for messages on my own time. But I guess every little
advancement helps bring us closer to a technology-driven world where life
is just a little easier. But is it really necessary to create vibrating
jewelry?

Smart devices made from jewelry

Cuff is a company that creates jewelry with Bluetooth capabilities
connecting it to your phone, according to CNET. The jewelry doesn't do
anything except look pretty unless it is connected to a phone with a phone
plan. If you are able to connect your necklace to your phone, it allows you
to quickly send a vibration to anyone you want offering your exact
location. Maybe you just want to let them know you are on your way or maybe
the idea is to use it in case of an emergency. It might work really well if
you put the necklace on a daughter and ask her to buzz it a couple of times
a day when out with friends. Maybe you're meeting someone for a business
meeting and need help finding the location. There are many reasons why you
might want to send your exact location to someone you are close to.

Created in many fashions

Cuff's idea behind these smart devices is that they can be put in anything.
It's not just smartwatches anymore. It could technically be used in
bracelets, cufflinks, necklaces, earrings, and more. On top of that, the
company hopes to get designers involved to create more Cuff-compatible
jewelry, so you have a variety of options for what you can wear and use to
send signals to loved ones. All designers involved will have the ability to
use this technology in their products and create even more wearable
technology than ever before.

How will it work?

It still doesn't make sense to a lot of people. Maybe using it as an
emergency beacon of some sort makes sense, but a lot of people don't
understand why you'd want something that was so limited in its
capabilities. Cuff has a lot to work out with this to determine exactly how
the product is going to work and how to make it something customers will
want and even need, but the idea of putting more technology into our daily
lives can't hurt. It might work better if the necklaces and bracelets had
small screens on them to allow you to do more than just send a vibration to
friends and family, but for now, it hasn't advanced that far. The idea is
simply to keep you connected with GPS location services.

More ways to connect

Even if all the jewelry does is send a buzz to everyone on your contact
list, it is still just one step closer to making everything in our lives a
little easier with technology. There are those who are worried about the
implications of a technology-drive lifestyle, but most people are excited
to see such interesting ideas and advancements being made. Maybe the
jewelry would be more successful if it just buzzed when you got a text
message. That would be a better way to go and would help your business more
easily access customers through quick text messages.
