There are silver cleaners you dip the jewelry in, but they're not supposed to be good for your jewelry, Connoisseurs makes one, but they're really the best way to clean a chain. Cream polish ( Wrights, Maas, etc.) is the way to go for bigger pieces, or a special silver cleaning cloth. Once your silver is clean, keep it in a plastic Baggie with an anti-tarnish strip. 3M makes some and you can get them on Amazon.

Ross-Simons also typically has some great chains in all lengths. 25% off at the moment.

I bought this one at Kohl's

http://www.kohls.com/product/p.....-24-in.jsp

I like the stainless steel because cleaning a sterling chain is difficult. It's not very dainty but not thick either. There are quite a few "men's" chains in stainless that might work if you are looking for something bold.

you can find sterling and other metal chains at Michaels. also fairly decent quality at bead shops or other craft stores. may try on line at Fire Mountain Gems or other jewelry making supply craft stores. I am not much into making jewelry any more but used to buy a lot from them.

Can anyone recommend a good place to order chains for pendants that did not come with one? I'm looking for both silver and gold. Something secure and not too dainty. I tried searching Etsy but got a little overwhelmed with all the choices.

Also, did anyone try the Tiffanys silver polish spray Angie recommended a while ago? I have some pieces to clean. I have never cleaned silver before-- anything to make it easy would be great.

Thank you!
