I'm waiting for tomorrow to do that, as I have obligations after work this evening. My current position requires that I be put-together, chipper, cheery and helpful no matter what's going on in my life. Mom had a procedure to put two new stints in (little tube-things that help open the arteries in her heart) to join the 3 she already has. She'll have to stay in hospital and have another procedure next week to put a stint in a mashed up artery in her one good kidney. Sigh. </p> <p>oh. and I didn't get the job. I am disappointed, but she was more qualified than I, and that's not something about which I can be angry. The manager wouldn't look me in the eye when she told me and she said it was a very, very difficult decision. She really didn't expect someone so perfectly qualified to apply and she knows everyone else in the department is going to hate her.</p> <p>I assured her I understood and would continue to support her department (I regularly do projects for them).</p> <p>oh. And our company was just bought out by a company from Spain. Their public statements estimate a 40% savings from corporate "synergy". Know what that means? New CEO is meeting with us tomorrow.</p> <p>So it's almost 10:00 p.m. and I just got home and I'm in no mood to deal with clothes. :-(</p> <p>Pooh. I competed really, really hard for it, and I don't know yet whether I got it, but I was one of two finalists. I was told that 379 people applied and they interviewed nine.</p> <p>My first formal interview was Monday. It was tough! The second interview was sprung upon me Tuesday. I was asked in the morning whether I could interview that afternoon with the VP. !!!!! I said, "of course!" and tried not to throw up.</p> <p>Today my would-be manager stopped by my desk and said, "I just want you to know that we're not trying to torture you! I'm trying to get some things wrapped up and will hopefully be finished with that this afternoon."</p> <p>I can hardly breathe.
