So, if altering is in mind, you would buy for the hip or thigh, and then tailor the gaps?

Have you had the jeans altered to fit at the waist? Most pretty pears need to have the waists of their pants and skirts adjusted. What you are experiencing is a very common problem.

I'm not sure what's causing this problem, but it's very annoying.

Every time I buy a pair a jeans, they fit fine in the store, but after a few wears (and washes), they feel big, mostly in the crotch. Right now, I'm wearing one of my favorite jeans (Banana - great wash, fit other places), but the crotch is two inches lower than it should be. If I pull them up again, I have to cinch them with a belt, which gives me a muffin top and a "ledge" of jean material above my butt.

Is it a rise problem? Maybe my thighs are too big for the waist/crotch area? Maybe the pants hit the wrong part of my hips?

How do you figure out what rise you have and which you should be wearing?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks!
