I bought inexpensive skinnies at JC Penney. I wanted to be sure I would like them and would have things to go with them before I took the leap and bought a more pricey pair. So far, they have held up well.

I have no booty and I find Seven For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity both give me a booty-boost. But they are expensive! I get mine at the consignment store, often hemmed to my length by someone else.

The faded washes seem to be the current trend. I don't think you can go wrong with a medium or dark wash, plus they will last longer and become faded in time for the trend to come back around.

You know a lot of it has to do with where your top falls over the jeans. Most times I have a pretty round behind but lately it is going flattish. I really noticed what a difference tops make in the dressing room with a good set of mirrors.

I am a big fan of Joe's Jeans, and although I have far from a flat behind, I know that they have a style particularly for women with smaller backsides. It is called the Muse Icon (not to be confused with the Muse, which are a different cut), and has a higher rise than a lot of their other jeans. I know they had several on sale at my local Nordstrom Rack.

In terms of wash, I always think that a dark wash jean is the most necessary for a wardrobe, and my second choice would be a medium wash, because those don't seem to go out of style. I don't wear skinnies, so I'm not sure if these come in a skinny version, but most Joe's were available in skinnies, so my guess is they do. I found these on their website, although they are bootcut: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/jo.....tback=4713

I have a flattish behind and I have been really happy with my DKNY skinnies from Nordstrom Rack. Theses aren't exactly the same as I have, but here are some on sale for $25! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/dk.....ltback=274

Step two on my list of wardrobe overhaul (after a bra fitting) is buying some new pants. Except for maybe 5 months while I was pregnant and wearing maternity pants, I've been wearing the same two pair of pants almost daily for over two years!

Any suggestions for jeans a slim hourglass/rectangle (thanks, Angie!)
with hardly any rear should try? I like the skinny look. I think I have a long rise. I need a whole new wardrobe, so I'd rather not go totally premium and spend all my money on one item, but I do want something that will hold up well.

Are there certain washes that are trendier than others? Anything else I should watch? I don't want something so trendy that it will be outdated in season. I don't have the core wardrobe yet to support that kind of purchase.
