I have the same problem with the waistband on most of my jeans except for the one pair that is exactly the correct rise for me (9"). All the others move and I hate having to pull my pants up after sitting for awhile.

I was at Nordstrom's yesterday and tried on some jeans on the sale rack. The clerk decided to bring me some of David Kahn's jeans that were not on the sale rack. I was pleasantly surprised that the rise was higher, just right. They were not straight leg or skinny leg though. At least things are going in the right direction for those of us who want a higher rise in jeans. I would keep an eye on the David Kahn jeans coming out this season, if the ones I tried are any indication of what they are bringing out. I would love to have some skinny or straight leg jeans with a higher rise by David Kahn.

We should definitely start a support group. I also thought I was the only one who had to re-adjust my jeans waistband every time I would stand, or bend, or sit down... it's awful!

I assure you, Evelina, that you are not the only one who has to do that! We should form a support group. Stomach tuckers anonymous, or something. It definitely doesn't do wonders for ones self esteem or body image when you are constantly fidgeting with your stomach fat. Sigh. I actually find that I look about 15 pounds lighter in dresses and skirts because jeans push all the flab from my hips and lower stomach up. Also, as Kari mentioned, it's easier to camouflage where the legs begin and the torso ends. Maybe that's the key.

Personally I don't find high rise jeans unflattering on me, despite being short-waisted, because my tops are never tucked so no one can even tell where they end anyway.

I will chime in...I bought a great pair of Michael Kors jeans at Stein Mart. They are straight leg that you can roll up and they have a little stretch. I always have the hardest time finding jeans that fit. These are so comfortable and they are the right rise for me, not too low. And the pockets are simple, not overly embellished.

Me to, I'm fairly short waisted. I remeasured my rise and it's closer to 10.5 inches, maybe 11. I know what you mean about always hiking up the waistband. I find it worst when I go to sit down and I always have to adjust my waistband to tuck my stomach in because it's cutting me off too low and popping out. I never see anyone else have to do this! I like the idea of multi layered tops. I've seen some of your photos Kari and I think you look great, certainly not out of balance.

I am watching this thread since I also have a very long rise. I think that my front rise up to my bellybutton is something like 12 or 13 inches. Kind of ridiculous. And of course I'm short waisted too, so high waisted jeans actually don't look that good on me. Around 9" seems to be the most comfortable in terms of not cutting into me, but I always have to tug my waistband up whenever I stand up.

I find that skirts disguise my high rise because you can't see how low my legs actually begin, and waistcoats or multi-layered tops work too because they kind of break up my torso into smaller sections, if that makes any sense.

Not sure if they changed the ON sweethearts for the fall but the white ones I bought in the spring are a tad low on me - probably around 8.5". NYDJ is another brand that makes a higher rise. I remember trying on a pair of J Brands at Anthro that were also higher/mid rise. Unfortunately, I have found with jeans that you really have to try them on to be sure. There seems to be other factors than simply the front rise that can affect the fit - back rise, whether the waistband is curved or straight, pocket placement on the rear, etc.

My front rise is more than 10" (measured from crotch to waist), so I know how you feel. No one believes me when I tell them but I swear it's true. A 10" rise hits me just below the belly button and STILL gives me muffin top sometimes. I have only found one pair of stylish jeans with an 11" rise, but they were too pricey. It's tough.

I have high rise jeans from Gold Sign, 7FAM, and Rich and Skinny. Urban Outfitters has a lot of 10" rises. I have heard Old Navy's sweetheart and goddess fits are good as far as bargain denim goes but don't have personal expereince with them.

Well I measured the front rise and I need 9 to 9.5" to hold everything in and I need a waistband that will fit comfortably and not be tight and squish things out. Tanya, maybe I should try to find some of the higher waisted one's like you did. I'm so hard to fit that I really hate buying online.
Maybe I'm better off with lower slung ones. I've done some of my own alterations at the waist and used a belt loop or two and cut a V in the back or sides of the waistband and set the loop in and sewn them that way to make them more comfy and fit better.

10" is quite high if that is the front rise.

COH makes a mode called 'Amber' and Joe's a model called "Muse" that are both nice higher-waisted bootcut jeans , but not that high. Rich&Skinny makes some gorgeous ones too. They can be all ordered online.

I live in a small city in Canada so there's not a lot of shopping options until I get to the bigger city once in a while. I need a rise of at least 10". I also find that the juniors sizes fit me well in the butt and hip/leg area but are often low-waisted, which can work sometimes as long as the waist is kind of rounded and doesn't cut into me if you know what I mean.

I once had a Gap pair that fit me well. I think I'll try going there next time when in the city. thanks, girls!

I also need a longer rise to contain my post-baby flab. Your best bet is to figure out what kind of rise you need (e.g. I know that my ideal is 9"). Like you said, having a rise that is too high is just as unattractive as one that it too low. I am very straighish on the bottom too and surprisingly some "junior" brands work great - the F21 skinnies are cheap and have about a 8.5" rise. BDG jeans at Urban Outfitters has a high rise jean that seems to be about 10". I'm not sure of the rise but the new Gap straight legs worked on me. Lots of premium jeans come in higher rises too (Joe's Muse is 9", COH Huttons are 9" etc). Nordstroms or a denim specialty retailer will be able to help.

Hi Evelina. What brand jeans have you tried?
I am also long in the rise and am grateful that the manufacturers seem to be making the rises higher than they have in the past few years. I also do not have much in the way of curves in the hip area so I know exactly what you mean when you mention jeans that have too much curve and end up under your boobs.
It would be good if you could go to Nordstrom's and ask to try on all of their jeans that fit your body type. You should be able to find a pair there.

I'm quite long through the rise and really have a hard time finding pants or jeans that fit right. I think I'm a rectange and not overwieght but not as curvy as i'd like. Today I tried on a pair of dark skinnies and they looked great but the rise was too short and my muffin top spills over all the time! I've tired the higher waisted older or middle aged(which I am) lady jeans and most of the time they are way to curvy for me and the waist is under my boobs.

How in the world do I find jeans that hold all of my long rise in properly. I've resorted to sometimes wearing a "hold me in camisole," but they are very hot in the summers and don't always work with what top I may be wearing. I'm very self conscious about my roll at the waist on the sides.
