I wonder if they'd look even better a little shorter - so that the hem rests on the vamp of the foot thereby avoiding the break line. I have everything reviewed, and tried on some that had been neglected. Good to go with several pairs of wide legs, straight legs, various washes, one pair with side stripes, one pair with front seaming, some summery ones with girlfriend and cropped cuts.</p> <div><br /></div><div>I saw a photo somewhere recently which showed a very unique treatment and found that my old Jag stretchy boot cuts were a good candidate for it. These jeans have little wear because I had a very slim straight pair of the same brand and fabric which won every time, and the boot cuts -almost flares- have always been just a bit too long for flat shoes. So here they are with a detail shot. I can’t find the original inspo photo yet. </p> <p>Instructions: measure 10” up from hem all around each leg and mark with chalk. Cut off legs directly on line; cut into line, not up the leg from the hem, so you have tubes. Turn bottoms inside out. Make another chalk line 1” above the cut line on the legs of jeans. Switching the bottom tubes to the opposite legs, so the seams match up, pin the cut edge of the tube part along the new marked line, making a 1” overlap. Sew around 1/2” from cut edge of tube, and again 1/4” below that line. I sewed around twice on each line to make a thicker line. I sewed with the free arm feature, rolled the bottom up enough to fit on the machine easily.</p> </div><div><br /></div><div>Result: just 1” shorter which is perfect. Appearance of wide cuff, and/or designer novelty treatment. I’m excited to wear these!&nbsp;</div></p>
