More interesting thoughts. This will be my first pair of jeans with any poly content. I'll report in after a few wears.

I posted this prior to seeing Una's issues with her plaid Kuts. Good input there too. I don't typically have issues with pants sliding off, mostly it's just the dreaded baggy seat. Sounds like it's related to a mix of fabric content, pant style, and body shape. Hmm.

I just checked, and my bag-prone american eagle jeans are 99% cotton, 1% elastane.

I just today bought a pair if 100 percent cotton jeans at Target (Mossimo boyfriend style.) I was surprised to find them. I try to avoid poly in jeans/denim due to the bagging problem and for me, they always feel hot and they always attract lint and pet hair. and it doesn't seem to matter the price point.

I found 100% cotton jeans a Tommy Hilfiger, but that was a couple of years ago. They felt very nice. I wonder if levis 501s are back in style. They were always 100% cotton, IIRC.

I would expect a high poly content jean to last longer than an equally thin one with less poly.

I'll dig up my bagtastic American Eagle jeans tonight and see what their content is.

When jeans will bag out is a mystery to me too. It has NOTHING to do with price.

Beth, I've worn those jeans with a blouse is Summer, and want to wear it with my grey, cream and ink jumpers in Fall & Winter.

It's a mystery. Like Beth and Suz said, I can't figure out a way to predict which jeans will become baggy in an hour or two, but I so wish I could! I returned a pair earlier this summer of mostly cotton ones because by the end of the day they were actually falling off. And yet the size down was so tight to start with I couldn't bear to buy them.

I kind of despise the feel and hand of high-poly jeans (so lightweight, such a short lifespan), but at least in my experience they don't stretch out nearly as much/often as their mostly cotton counterparts. But I know there are exceptions all over the place.

Beth, I would have said exactly what you say here:

Some stretch, others don't, even in the same general fabrication. So weird.

It must depend on the type of poly used, and a whole bunch of other factors. I can't figure it out. All I know is some jeans stretch and others don't.

Oh-- and even the same jean may "bag out" on one body and not on another. Which may have to do with original size bought and body type modifiers. I honestly don't understand it.

I have a pair of white Kut Dianas that definitely bag out after a couple of wears on me. Luckily in a good way -- I don't think they look bad when they get a bit of ease to them.

But others have the same Kuts and say they never bag out!

I have a pair of stretchy blend Mias that don't bag out at all -- they're in a size below my regular Kut size. They fit like super skinnies.

Then I have a different pair of plaid Kuts, bought a size up for slouch -- and they bag out like you wouldn't believe!!

Interesting. I think I'll end up keeping the tighter of the two pairs. If they stay snug, I'll wear them like leggings, and if they stretch some, then they'll just be that much more versatile.

Lisap, I really love Kuts and have several pairs. Some stretch, others don't, even in the same general fabrication. So weird.

Runcarla, agreed 100%! I strongly prefer a cotton denim with no more than 2% stretch at the most. The blends often feel thinner and more revealing for some reason.

Angie, those jeans are to die for. Love, love the stitching. Are these the ones you'll be wearing with your ink Vince sweater?

This is so frustrating, isn't it? Can't really find 100% cotton jeans anymore, it seems.. The only jeans I trust now read 98% cotton, 2% lycra. If it is a blend like you've posted I choose the snugger size since they 'always' stretch.

I have actually washed 'dry clean only' pants in hopes of getting a snugger fit after 97% cotton, 3% elastane turned baggy and I was hitching them up all day (and could do like Lisap describes.). It worked, but I am very cautious, and very fussy now...and maybe not as adventurous in my pants purchases.

I just bought a pair of poly blend jeans from G-Star, and they don't stretch out at all. They are not as snug on me as in the pic.

The BR jeans I have with this content blend - well, I pulled them off without undoing them yesterday. That's how much they stretch . Same with a pair from the GAP. This makes me nuts. I hear others love Kuts, but that blend makes me wary.

I just received these Kut skinnies today. They look great with the ink blue Vince sweater from NAS.

Not sure about sizing though. The fabric content is 57% cotton, 27% polyester, 15% rayon, 1% spandex. Not really denim, definitely not leggings. Are they less likely to stretch with the blend of materials? If so, I'll keep the larger size.

Thanks!
