For fall, either cropped at ankle or long to wear straight. I wouldn't go super long as you would always have to wear them cuffed and that might not work if you wanted to be a bit dressy.

Above the ankle somewhere...depends on booties. You need to try them on with the options.

I'm thinking the same - at the ankle. I don't like really long jeans with boots at all and all of a sudden, cuffing seems to be a trend we might be done with? It's also not as professional as a nice clean hem. I think I'm having frayed hem overload though from this summer. Man I can't wait to put away my summer clothes ! I would really like a pair of jeans like this ...

I'm not a fan of either cuffed or tucked into booties, so I vote for whatever would not leave enough gap for you to feel chilly in the fall. So probably cropped at ankle.

I'd say a few inches above the ankle.

Hmm. I'm not good at the PPL game, but these look like pants I would like and shoes I would wear. I would probably aim for cropped at ankle or slightly longer to figure cuffing could shorten to anything but the highest shaft booties here (if they aren't too narrow to cuff)

ETA - I love the moto bootie. Think I may be looking for something like that. I had a moto boot that was a duplicate and it died on me last year. I like this style since it's a little shorter than what I had.

I actually quite like these inexpensive jeans from JCrew Factory: super dark rinse, straight cut. They fit me well and they feel like a classic style and a good look for fall. My question has to do with length since they come in several. Assuming I have the luxury of choice at my local store, what do you think is the way to go?

I will not be wearing them with heels. Probably booties, but it would be nice to have the flexibility to also wear them with Stan Smiths, oxfords, or loafers. These would be great for traveling between cities and potentially for working in. See Finds for potential footwear (including a couple I have collected but don't yet own.)

Cropped above ankle?
Cropped at ankle?
Long to wear straight?
Super long, to wear cuffed?
