AAAH You friends always have the best ideas. With a little creativity I still will make me look like me. I love thinking of relaxed skinnies as a modern classic And the idea of chunky shoes because SHOES!

Even if I don't venture to velvet jeans or wide legs at work, I like the idea of owning some nicer pants like these choices, to mix it up on the weekends and evenings. It will give me something to look forward to.

I append a photo of some leopard pants I don't wear nearly often enough. :)

Last year I hemmed a pair of wide leg slacks to wear with oxfords. I liked the look, so this year I'm hemming my NAS wide leg jeans to wear with those oxfords and other low heels. Today I wore some moderate flairs with a pair of moto boots - I like the look and I want to wear flats more often these days.

I still think straight and skinny jeans are awesome, and look good with slightly chucky footwear. I do agree a mix of fabrics makes it more interesting I think cropped denim would be harder with practical boots!

Hoping all is well with you!

I agree with Tanya on the shape. Maybe to change it up a little, try velvet or corduroy jeans in the skinny or straight silhouette, with some slits or zippers

Hi Anabelle,

That is a tough one. The main jeans trend this season are cropped, whether straight or cropped kick flare, with regular or deconstructed hems. Also culottes, which are wider cropped, or cropped with big upturned hem. Another major trend that is not cropped are dramatic full length flares/trouser jeans, but those usually need at least a bit of a heel.
However, rises are trending high, so high-waist in any cut is going to look more current than low waist.

Since you specify full length and to-be-worn with flats, the only jeans that look good full length with flats are skinny or straight. They are not trendy, but not dated either, I'd call them a modern classic, so they are sure to stick around for a while.

Hey Ladies I am looking for emerging trends for jeans for Fall. I've read Angie's blog, and I see a lot of (awesomely) cropped styles, but this month I'm looking for some work appropriate, which for me will mean indoor/outdoor full length jeans that I can wear without heels. Or with "heeled" Timberland or Frye boots. (moderately sad face, because I love my chunky heels, but I also love my job)

I've historically appreciated a relaxed skinny, but I'd hate to purchase a couple of these only to find that silhouettes are moving bigger or skinnier.

I appreciate all of your research and insights! I enjoy coming here for the best trends, and choosing from that what might be a three-year keeper for me. many hugs!
