I've been lurking for a while, and thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents. My measurements are 36-30-43 (and 24 inch thighs…sigh), which make it next to impossible to find anything that fits will in pant form. Not really close to your measurements, but for the sake of anyone similar, I've had luck with some brands that aren't mentioned much around here.

Gap used to be my go-to for jeans, but their fits have been so weird these past few years, that I finally caved and looked into premium. I've had luck with:

James Jeans Heather: http://www.shoppetal.com/james.....ajean.aspx (great work jean)
Fidelity Honeysuckle: http://stores.luxandmie.com/Fi.....-p251.html
IT Diva: http://www.jordynscloset.com/c.....ey=ST-3515 (not really premium, but I love the fit and price)

Paige Hidden Hills also fit well, but I can't bear the price tag. I also remember trying on a pair of David Kahns that worked (sorry, I don't remember what style), but I wasn't crazy for the cut in the lower leg. I keep re-reading the comments that attest to the fact that pears can wear skinny jeans, but I'm really not sold that these can work with hips like mine. I look like I'm going to fall over in anything more tapered than a bootcut…even with boots. But, maybe I'm being stubborn with how I see it.

As for trousers, Banana Republic Jackson are the best I've found, and sometimes the Martin fit. I can also confidently walk into Mexx on any day of the week and find trousers that fit perfectly. Mexx has been my saving grace for work wear for years.

Anyway, hope the info helps, and good luck finding something that works!

Hello Claire,
your proportions seem to be similar to mine (74 cm waist, 105 cm hips - that's 29-41 in inches). I can't really get a nice pair of jeans, but there's one thing I'm sure - stretch is your best friend! I tend to avoid high-rise jeans as well.

I second the Joe's. I love my Muse. I don't love the Honey because I prefer a higher rise. I've also had decent luck with Rich and Skinny jeans - probably because they all have stretch in them so they, um, accommodate me nicely. (-: Good luck! Can't wait to hear what you try and what you end up liking.

You hardly have huge anything with a 36 inch hip and 26 inch waistline! But get yourself into Joes (try both the Honey and the Muse), AND try Cookie Johnson's jeans. Try David Kahn's basic boot cut jeans too. Great cuts for curvy girls.

For slacks, it's off to Anne Taylor, having the waistband adjusted to fit. Hope that helps.

Hi all, I'm 36-26-36, with a large butt and big thighs. I have the expected amount of trouble finding jeans and trousers. I've had some luck with Gap's Curvy jeans, but they only come in one leg and two colors Similarly with Banana Republic's Jackson fit for trousers.

I'm hoping for suggestions on brands/fits of jeans that won't make my butt look huge, draw attention to my thighs, etc etc... I've heard good things about Joe's Jeans Honey fit. Anybody know if they're any good? Worth the price tag? Good jeans are definitely an investment piece, so I'll pay it if it's worth it. Other suggestions?

Thank you!!
