Hard wearing, look good with signs of wear, go with lots of items, often appropriate. I have five pairs in total, the flares are the least worn but I do enjoy pulling them out from time to time. I lean to a mid wash but I have learned to enjoy white jeans as well..... Carla on "Jeans!" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/jeans-39#post-2137130 Thu, 06 Aug 2020 17:39:58 +0000 Carla 2137130@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Here’s my denim capsule (pic below).  The MAC jeans picked up last fall were an impulse purchase (skinnier, stretchier, and patterned!) that have become a fave pair.  The rest are all 98%cotton, 2% something else, and, I gravitate to the extremes - dark wash or white.  Like you said, NS - jeans are wash and go.  I hang the MAC’s to dry, but the others get the washer and dryer treatment. I just realized denim bottoms make up half the pants/shorts in my closet, and the chinos and corduroy follow jeans styling.  I even have a (white) denim dress.  So - yes, definitely team jeans! Cool collection of denim pieces too - love cropped flare jeans. I have dark wash denim that I love to wear in winter time. Currently grey jeans and pale blue ones are the favorites. I'm waiting for the fall to start wearing jeans again. I love jeans. One thing I have enjoyed during the pandemic is wearing jeans just about every day. I like them with or without stretch, though none of mine are super stretchy, and these days I prefer the slightly looser styles. Below are my current favorites. And look very authentic in them. Confession: for me these remind me too much of my earliest style endeavours. Business casual with dark wash jeans below and a 'fun' top + accessories was the standard advice for young professionals in the nillies/'10's I think, and although I don't think I looked bad back then I feel like I was dressing too run-of-the-mill and my personal style has evolved since then. Past grey, black and colored skinny jeans to a nineties blue wash now (casual wear only). One thing that Angie did not mention is care: I love that jeans are machine washable (I am not a stick-them-in-your-freezer purist), and while that does degrade the color over the long term, jeans looks better than other pieces as they wear and they don't need ironing. I find other fabrics simply much more finicky to care for.  Below are all of the jeans I've been wearing regularly this year. They all have a little stretch, but I'm like Angie and don't like to go too high over 2% spandex. I'm also a devotee of J Crew's high-waisted Tencel jeans, which are very soft and hold up throughout the day. (I have three dupes in rotation in my wardrobe now.) For me, dark wash jeans are just the right balance between dressy and casual, structured and stretchy. I do wear other things, but these are wardrobe essentials for me.
