The last time I tucked my top into pants was before babies, so it worked with my belly. Now, I can't imagine it so much.

I can imagine tucking into a high-waisted skirt though, so maybe this is the way to wear the tucked-in trend instead?

Great news! I've never liked needing to shave to wear pants! Mom jeans are all about the shape (puff abdomen and tapered to the ankles for sure) and pocket placement! The bottom of the pocket should be below the end of your tushy to avoid the whole mom jean look.

I wouldn't count a 9" rise as "mom jeans" unless they pouf out around the abdomen and taper at the ankle. ; ) The slightly higher rise means more comfort and less muffin top for short waisted me.

Jen321: I'm 42 and a mother--so I really don't want that "Mom jeans" association! Maybe I should wait a bit before adopting this trend.

I could do without the crop tops, but you don't know how happy I am about the rising jean rises! Short waist + pearish behind means that most "low rise" jeans are completely indecent and "mid rise" jeans are low rise on me and sometimes muffin toppy.

I'm in the market for a new pair of jeans. Despite the interesting thread about 1970s dressing, I don't think I want wide legs right now--probably straight or a very slight bootcut to wear with my cowboy and motorcycle boots.

After seeing all the higher-waisted 1970s pants, I am thinking about a higher rise on the upcoming pair of jeans. I am tall (5'9") with a relatively high waist--so supposedly midrise jeans often hit me 3" below the navel, with a classic rise (like the Old Navy Sweetheart) about 2" below the navel.

Will we be seeing higher rises on ALL jeans this spring? I'm thinking a front rise as long as 9-9.5" might be a nice change, hitting me about 1" below the navel. What do you all think: Am I crazy to look for such a high rise--if they are even available?

Part II: If we will be seeing a lot more high rises--then what will we be wearing on top? I have been buying the longest t-shirt and sweaters I can find for quite a while, and it must have been 15 years since I have tucked anything at all into a pair of jeans. But higher rises may mean shorter tops or more tucking . . . right? Not sure I'm ready for that . . .
