Sveta, it seems to be same knit as Tippi.
I have not really been a Tippi consumer before as the cut did not seem to fit me. I think the greater acceptance of fluid fits helped, because I cannot wear it sized for a close fit.
deb, I hear you and have worried about going gaga for merino--thoughts of moving to a warmer climate and having too much wool! Also it can be hard to find nice knits for warm weather but air-conditioning.
Inge, yes, the Tilly is a no-go for me with usual trousers, It does tuck in to higher waists, though, which means I think I can get 2 "looks" with some skirts.and have 1-2 pairs of trousers for tucking.

Thanks so much for the review, unfrumped, this is very helpful.
The Tilly also caught my eye because I love the Tippi, and Tilly seems to be the shorter version of that style. It looks like a great sweater to swear with skirts, and if I wore those more often these days, I'd be very tempted to get one. The Tilly will be too short to wear with regular trousers for me, but might also work with high-waisted trousers. Hmm, something to think about

Thanks for the review - I was eyeing this as well and for the same reason you mentioned: to wear with skirts and high waisted pants and olso a s acropped over a shirt.
I am thinking about that dark red color...
Is it the same weight as the Tippi?

Here's kind of a review of this Tilly sweater in case anyone else is interested. I'm interested in it, sort of parodoxically due to its shorter length. Usually I need longer length tops for all my pants, and just wear some of them with skirts even if the length is longer than idea.( I did in fact get a Tippi on sale in a color that can skew spring-like.)

When sized up just a litte, it is a good fluid fit but shorter to wear "out" over pencil skirts or other skirts whose fit really want something to hit at higher hip (or potentially high-waisted pants, but I tuck into those). So it is boxy but the merino is collapsible.
Also has full-length sleeves--I have collected maybe too many 3/4 sleeved sweaters as I like to wear that length, but then they aren't "adjustable" for cold.
The other thing that seems to work is that the welt or bottom band is not tapered in too much, again I sized to give more hippy room. I get super love-bandles with the band hanging up and often have to forego band-bottoms entirely, looking for a straight finished hem.

Anyway I'm thinking of this a good basic weight fabrication that is more versatile than chunky knits, has some boxiness for the right proportions but can still look "tailored" . Not a statement sweater but easy to accessorize.

I do seem to be creating one of those expanding gray sweater collections and perhaps should be more French and multi-purpose, but I like having some different proportions.
